Huge Inventory at a great price

by J Friesen

I personally never bought a new car before because a car is a liability and will depreciate so fast. So if I buy a new car, I will pay a lot of money and it will lose most of its value so fast. I did some research and I found that Alameda County Auctin / ACACars in Dublin has a huge inventory and a big variety of cars. I got lost when I got there. I went there on the preview day (Friday) which is one day before the auction and I met a great salesman named Rob Salam who explained to me that I could purchase the car on the same day instead of coming the auction day and compete against so many people. My salesman Rob made it a fun experience in finding me a nice car. Like I said before, they have a huge inventory and Rob was so patient showing me the whole lot. I have to say that they have great deals and not only that, they have so many cars that are lease returns and still under manufacturer warranty. Why to buy a new car and pay a lot of money for a liability when you can find a beautiful car at a great price and still under manufacturer warranty. I highly recommend Alameda County Auction / ACACars to every car shopper and make sure you ask for Rob Salam.

Get a better car, better deal, piece of mind at Honda El Ce

by GasSaver

I didn't buy my car from here, I just bought my car from Honda of El Cerrito. I am very pleased with my purchase and the level of service I received. If you want a good, reliable car at a great price with excellent service, go to HONDA of El Cerrito! Go anywhere else and you'll probably get ripped off on a crappy car with tons of mechanical problems that would cost as much as a new good, reliable car to fix.

  • Pros: Can't think of any
  • Cons: You can get better service elsewhere

Research before you buy

by flips2k

I don't recomend this place for people that have little knowledge about cars because some of these cars look good in the outside but does not mean you are getting a good deal with the price. The auction price is usually a minimum of $5000 starting bid which I believe is not fair to bidders..some or the cars are not worth that much because of the auctions fees, tax and all that other stuff that can be 1000-3000 more after the initial bidding price. These cars are already in a must sell quick situation.. If you buy a car for its kbb value or what the vehicle is worth you are in a loosing situation. Some of the cars are wet inside, have been in accidents, are not well maintained.. since you are not able to test drive you are gambling on what the car is really worth... I recomend to carfax all vehicles in your wish list and set a budget on atleast 3000 below kbb of the car to compensate for mechanical problems.. Salvage title is always a loosing situations. Never get that!!!! cars that have accident history do not get because they can have eletrical problems to say the least.. I have bought cars here before and probably half of the cars is not worth going to bidding wars with.. Just remember you don't have to buy are car here on auction day and you didn't pay much to get in so best thing to do is go a few once or twice and check out how the system goes to get a better feel of whats really going on. Do not rush into buyinhg a car here, they are not that great... Good luck guys

  • Pros: once in a while good deals
  • Cons: carfax doesn't tell you all

It's an AUTO Dealership

by Blower

This is your standard auto dealership with a few twists. First of all, do your homework. Get their listing on the Thursday prior to the show (which they reccomend on their website), and then go their on the Friday before the show to check out your cars.

Make a list of the VIN numbers on the cars you are interested in. Record the mileage and condition of the car. Check everything you can. (For liability rasons, they can't give you a test drive of the cars, but they do allow you to turn them on) Go home and do a Carfax (R) of your list of cars. MAKE NOTES!

On auction day (the first Saturday of each month). Get their before they open and READ their brochure! It explains everything!

Bottom line is that it is up to you to find and purchase the car. You will typically save 2 to 4 thousand dollars on your car. Here's the catch. YOU assume the risk for this car (however, standard California "Lemon" Laws still apply!). OK....., that's what "Sold as Is" means!

Personnaly, I had a wonderful time their. It was very humorous to see some of the bidding wars take place, so if you don't have the stomach for that sort of thing then I wouldn't recommend this for you.

I got into a bidding war and paid about 1500 more than I was prepared to, however I still got a cream puff of a car for about 2500 less than blue book, and it has performed wonderfully for me ever since.

Good Luck, and remember. COME PREPARED! :-)

  • Pros: Large selection-great savings
  • Cons: High risk

very bad customer service and very rude people

by dmoamin

I went there with my husband on Sat because they had an auction. I regret it big time. We won the bid on a car and we wanted to go take a look at the car. We saw this Indian man named DAL and he starts to yell and scream in our faces and uses bad words and swears at us. We have no idea why was he doing all that. We asked him nicely to talk to us nicely and to stop yelling and screaming. He said " you are not here to teach me my job, I am an SB and that is my job" so we decided to go and complain to his boss. His boss was a wonderful person and he asked him to apologize, he lied to my face and said he apologized already and he never used bad words, then he apologized finally because his boss made him. After that his boss took us to complete the car registration and pay. We went there and there was a mean young lady with blond hair and blue eyes. So rude and mean and she kept lecturing us about how we should have read this and read that and how we should have worked harder etc... All that because we asked her about some of the charges that we didn?t understand. I kept telling myself it is ok it will be over with soon. We asked her to repeat something that she said to us because we didn?t hear what she told us and she responded in a very mocking rude way so at that point I was boiling and I told her to stop talking to us that way. Her answer was, I am not yelling. So I told her stop talking to us like we are idiots. We simply had a few questions and that doesn?t make you a lecturer and doesn?t make us criminals. My god what a terrible customer service. We were waiting for another car that we wanted to purchase but we decided to leave and never come back because of this bad customer service. My god it is like a crime to ask someone to repeat something.. what a rude uptight person she was. I will never go back there again and I will never ever recommend that place to anyone.

DO NOT BUY FROM ALAMEDA COUNTY AUCTIONS THEY ARE THIEVES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by forthehonestbusiness

Dishonest, deceiving and the most criminal business entity. They MUST be investigated by the California Attorney General?s office as well as FBI for the business practices that allow them to get away with fraud and with scamming consumers out of millions of dollars. This is the company that consistently being mentioned in BB reports. Having said that due to the fact that Better Business is the most useless entity that does nothing to help consumers they are rating ACA as having satisfactory record..Can you believe that ???

If you want to have a piece of mind buy from any other reputable place in Bay Area rather than these crooks.
