Houlihan's is closed

Houlihan's in the Sun Valley Mall has closed. Too bad. They had good menu choices at reasonable prices. Red Robin is the closest thing to Houlihan's in Sun Vally Mall, but it has a burger orientation and fewer full meal choices.

Kansas-based restaurant started in 1972 entices 30-somethings and families with a flashy menu, inventive drinks and chic, but accessible, decor.

Tasteless Food, Immature Staff

I understand that you get what you pay for but my recent visit to Houlihan's left a bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to try something different from the normal mall faire and came across Houlihans for lunch. My partner and I were seated right next to the prep/kitchen area and were given our menus, not much else was said. We looked over our menus rather quickly and decided since we were starving. I think we waited nearly 20 minutes before our waiter came over to take our order which was unacceptable. We gave our orders and the waiter left without saying a word and promptly went over to the prep/kitchen area but was stopped by a fellow employee of the opposite gender. They flirted and talked for what seemed like 10 minutes then the waiter appeared to put all of his orders into the computer nearby. My partner and I were furious!! I think it was another 30 minutes by the time our food came and again the waiter didn't say a word. He once again stopped over to see the female co-worker he talked to prior and we didn't see him again after that. My partner and I had to walk up to the wait area to ask for our check and the cordial hostess got it for us and we paid. I don't think I am going to go there ever again.
