Can't beat the vibe!

The place looks refreshed and inviting but has not lost its local charm. As I read some of the other reviews I see that it is under new management and I'm so happy that someone has taken this place under their wing and is really taking care of this Alameda landmark. The coffee was great and the poppyseed cake was phenomenal...I might also like to add that the wifi there is FAST and free which is always important to me.
- Pros: High ceiling, great back ground music. good people and fast wifi
- Cons: couldn't think of any, this place is better than home

A REAL coffee house... independent

The real deal. Great coffee and snacks. Maybe there is a high turnover in staff, but they are all good. Coffee house like it SHOULD be... independent, simple, nice atmosphere, great place to hang out and read or chat with a friend. Love the place.
- Pros: Comfortable place to hang out and have great coffee with a friend, or alone
- Cons: The slowest toaster in Alameda!!!! They need a new one! :)
