I go here every once in a while. It's very busy and the bartenders are only nice to their friends, it seems. The drinks are strong, however, and tasty. The food is average. I do like the whole fried fish. Don't order the micro-waved nachos and flautas that turn to rubber shortly after being served. The place is packed every night and day.

I have never had a bad dish at La Pinata III. Nor have I had a bad drink. The service is quick, the food is delicious, and the atmospher is fun. For those of you who swear by menudo for a hangover cure then this is a must. The burritos are filling and the margarita's come in large and small. It's always a good time at La Pinata III.

Pros: Good food, good people, good value

Cons: Always a wait

We got much better service at the locaiton in Fremont & didn't have to stand in a crowded hallway for an hour for a table.

Pros: good food

Cons: CROWDED! with nowhere to wait for your table when it's busy

Don't ask for a menu. You don't need it. LIsten up kiddo's all you have to say is "one Famoso please". That's right the "Famoso" burrito is the size of a human head and if you finish it you will experience the "famoso sweats". For an extra buck I recommend asking for carne asada. For under $7.00 you get pure happiness. Tell them T-BONE sent you and you may get seated quickly.

Pros: Inexpensive, Quick Service, Fun Atmosphere

Cons: Parking can be tough, Get's crowded

When the chips and salsa are addicting - you know anything on the menu will surely win you over. Generous portions of consistenly delicious food in a spacious atmosphere with fast and friendly service are all reasons why this place is an absolute crowd pleaser. And those crowds do flock so plan on getting there a little early.

we live in alameda. we go here once or twice a week. sometimes theres a 10 minute wait when its busy.sometimes its a bit noisy.the food is consistently good, basic fare. last nite i tried a 'special' entree.it was so-so.my best advise...stick with the basic items.enchiladas, combo dinner, dont get fancy. they do the basics well, and the special entrees are so-so.its not a gourmet restaurant.its good basic mexican.my margarita last nite was ok,not potent.my date was ok, a little dull around the edges.(smiles)

My husband and I lived in Alameda for 4 years and ate at La Pinata at least once a week, if not more often. It was a mainstay especially when we had our first baby - the take out is just as good as eating in the restaurant! Chips and salsa are incredible. The fajitas are to die for - they are so big you could never finish it in one setting. I could get about 3 meals out of one order. They have onions, peppers, tomatoes, lots of cilantro - it's making me hungry just thinking of it! And the rice and beans are amazing! The hours also are great - 7 AM to 3 AM, so anytime you're hungry - you're all set!!!

Pros: Great hours, Incredible food

Cons: Crowded on weekends
