I went to this place about 3 weeks ago and ordered "carbnara spaghetti". But they served white source spaghetti. Well, before I ordered this food, I asked a manager if they could cook (it is traditional source in italy but not in the U.S) . First, it did not look right. but I talked to two people about the food so I assumes that they would not misorder. So I tasted it and I confirmed that it was wite source spaghetti. I went to the cashier to talk to either the manager or chefs. The manager was there so I told him that this is not carbonara spaghetti because it did not contain eggs and parmeasan cheese. He said this is how we make carbonara source and we have been cooking for 25 years. (Which was a definitely white source) So I explained to him that Carbonara has to have eggs at least. Well, he kept saying that white source and carbonara were same, and he told me to leave. (Of course, he charged the food) If you like The WORST service and Foods which IGNORANT chefs cook, You are very welcome to GO because they will treat you like NOTHING. *******It has a good rate because many customers eat there after they get drunk(many bars around)********

Pros: There are many bars you can go to after you are upset.

Cons: TOO many to write

A North Beach resident, NBP was a place I visited and ordered from regularly-- until my experience tonight. After more than an hour's wait for my food, I called the restaurant to ask after it and was told that I should have expected to wait that long. The woman was rude and dismissive, and I will not be patronizing this establishment again. There are plenty of other good Italian places around where good customers will be treated as such, and that's where I will be spending my money.

My food arrived late, cold, and the phone operators were less than helpful. I normally don't write reviews, but this is the second time in two months that North Beach has done this to me, so I am more than a little annoyed.

This place used to be pretty good. But the last 3 or 4 times I've tried it, the food has been weak. And last week, when I ordered it, delivery took over 1:30. On a Wednesday!!! (They said it would only take 30-45 minutes).

Pros: Good Reputation -- at least, back in the day

Cons: This place has really gone down hill.

Pizza arrives late, cold, and the manager flat out lied to me on the phone. How is it that so many have had the same experience and this place is still rated at 4 stars. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Delivery took 2 hours. Pizza arrived cold. Phone operators were awful. Order elsewhere. I wish I had read the other reviews.

I never write reviews. But my experience from the other day was so bad (and I've been thinking about it since), that it will feel good to get this off my chest. North Beach Pizza promised me a pizza within one hour and fifteen minutes. After several calls (in which the phone operator lied and put me on hold 6 times), my pizza arrived more than 2 hours late. And they still wanted to charge me for it. Order from North Beach only if you want to waste money, time, and taste buds. Edit: What is up with the CitySearch rating system? The average review is not 4.5 stars. It's a little over 3. So either CitySearch does not have a clue how to average their "star system", or the stars reflect one crazy editor's opinion.

Pros: Despite their best efforts, North Beach Pizza did not turn me off from pizza forever

Cons: North Beach Pizza is terrible

Their manager and phone operators are incompetent. Pizza arrived 1 hour late (i.e. it took 2 hours from order). It was cold. And the phone operator/manager said it had left a while ago. Liars. I wish I had read this before ordering, because it sounds like more than a few people have had the same problem.

Pros: None -- Do not order here

Cons: Their pizza tastes lousy

Delivery took 2+ hours. Management lied to me, and then was rude. Pizza arrived cold, and tasted terrible. Do not order from here. Like someone else said, you'd be better off pouring a can of tomato soup over a piece of bread and add a little cheese (don't even bother heating it up).

The pizza took over 2 hours to deliver (I was promised 40 minutes to 1 hour), and the delivery people lied the entire time. I ordered the pizza at 6:30. I called again at 7:45, and I was told the pizza had already left fifteen minutes ago, but they couldn't call because the delivery guy didn't have a cell phone. Second time I called (at 8), I was told the delivery guy had left 15 minutes ago (even though I was told the first time that he had left at 7:30). Then they put me on hold for 10 minutes so I could speak to the manager. Then the manager put me on hold for 10 minutes so I could speak with the owner, who never picked up. Then the pizza arrives at 8:30, cold, and they still wanted me to pay for it. I was starving, so I did. I wish I hadn't. The pizza tasted like soggy bread with tomato soup poured on top.

Pros: phone delivery service stinks

Cons: phone delivery service really, really stinks
