Shaw's is an adorable local shop with elaborate holiday-themed window displays and an assortment of cute little gifts (picture frames, themed salt and pepper shakers, etc). The candy is to die for and you can mix and match your own gift boxes. I go mainly for the ice cream: they have a great selection of Mitchell's flavors. Located on West Portal, it's the perfect place to stop after dinner, a movie, or while running errands.
Pros: Atmosphere, delicious products

The storefront is charming enough...but wait until you taste the candy! I felt like I was transported to Pleasantville. Douglas Shaw's tradition still lives on in this store. It's great to see an orginal, local business kept alive and full of magic.
