We usually go to Q twice a month. They always have great Beef specials and great new wines. The staff is always friendly and if their is a wait it moves pretty quickly.

Pros: good food/good service

Cons: parking

Went to Q for my boyfriend's birthday on Friday 5/2. Luckily we went there around 6:30, found a parking right outside and got our seat right-a-way. Customers came after us got to wait a bit. He ordered burger with garlic fries & root beer float, and I have ordered mussel & risotto & a glass of house Merlot. We both love this place! All food we have ordered were tasty! His burger was not come with a slice of cheese, but a big "cube" of cheese! You know, the cube was about 1 inch thick! Maybe that's why you won't think a $8-9 dollar burger from Q is overprice. The price for the whole meal was about $50 after tips! With different choices of food (He loves burger and I don't) and reasonable price, we will go back again.

Pros: food & food!

Cons: parking. Have an early dinner and you could find your parking and seats.

I go San Francisco often to visit family and always make sure I head to Q while I'm there. The food is delicious, very unique meals - the kind of food that is not on your average menu. The service is top notch and the atmosphere is eclectic to say the least! To sum it all up, this what makes San Francisco the artsy and beautiful city it is. You need to check it out, you will not be disappointed.

walked in and immediately realized this was not meant to be easy on the senses. The kitchen and dishwashing area as well as the bus station are out in the open alongside the booths which are comfortable. There are schoolroom magnetic letters that I guess you can sit and occupy yourself with while making sentences up. The service was decent. We had meatloaf and fried chicken. The meatloaf was nauseating, literally, I felt sick. The fried chicken was of low quality meat and my partner had this look of incredulousness which evolved into nausea as well. Compounding this disgusting food was a clamour of dishes, yelling staff, telephones, pots, and pans..all culminating in a very grating experience that left us in need of lying down at home in the quiet for an hour. We felt sluggish and filled with grease and it really put a damper on our evening as we didn't feel like going out drinking which was our original plan. This place was horrendous.

We are 2 kids (11 & 5) Mom and Dad, Seating was prompt and the magnetic wall boards kept the kids occupied. Even the Service was better than average. But unfortunately the bottom line for me at a restaurant is the food. I ordered the Meat loaf which was dry, it was if they cooked a meatloaf then put a slice of it on the gril prior to serving. My wife ordered the Salmon and she complained about it being dry also. While the kids split a hamburger with regular fries, they served a mix of garlic fries and regular fries. We would have liked the place if the food would be better. Sorry I can't recommend this place.

Pros: Come as you are, it is comfortable and warm inside.

Cons: Don't expect a good meal

The huge wine selection is more than enough to keep you busy during the long wait for a table. Once you sit, the food is not disappointing either.

I almost tried this place for dinner one night, but opted not to after i glanced on the menu which was posted in the window. Second time around...breakfast. My friend said their breakfasts were much better than their dinners, so I gave it a try. I ordered the chilaquiles, and a side of breakfast potatos and the french toast. I didn't finish it all but I certainly wish I could have! They took a different spin in the chilaquiles...green sauce instead of red. Different, but tasty. As for the french toast...delicioso! Made with briche bread, and stuffed with cream cheese and topped with stramberry compote! The decor was cute, a little funky, and the people who attended our table were very friendly and attentive, and the place. I am almost tempted to go back and give their dinner a try!

Pros: French toast!

Cons: None that I can think of.

Is it the cozy atmosphere that keeps me going back to Q? No. I think the tables are seated too low. Is it the friendly wait staff? No. It's the food. I've tried a variety of items on the menu, and I have yet to be disappointed. The burgers are always a safe bet. The mac and cheese, yum. The specials are always worth trying. The chefs use a lot of creative flavor combinations. I'm a pretty picky eater, but these Calfornia-American dishes are all so tasty, comforting, and affordable. I love the fact that the Vegetarian items are colored in green on the menu. I appreciate the fact that they do carry-out... but if you haven't been, it's a good place to try out if you're looking for a real "San Francisco Experience."

Pros: Food, Burgers, Decor

Cons: Long wait, Parking, Service could be better but most of servers are nice.

I keep going back to Q even though the food and service quality varies. I do recommend Q because of its price point and atmosphere, though it's best to stick with your favorite comfort food (think macaroni and cheese or meatloaf) and stay away from any dishes that may need to be a bit more refined. The service can also be disappointing and curt . . . it's a shame too, because the staff should be part of the room's charm)

Pros: Great comfort food and atmosphere

Cons: Service/food quality variable, loud room

I've never experienced the most rudest service ever than this place. I would not recommend or refer anyone - but to say go somewhere ..

Pros: None

Cons: Rudeness, Bad Service
