I was a bit nervous about getting tattooed in San Francisco, being a native of New Jersey where I was a regular in one shop. But I really wanted to get some new ink so my friend and I headed over to Haight St with a handy list of internet searched tattoo shops. Lucky for me, the first shop we rolled into was Anubis...You think you are in just a cool store but when you head farther in, you come to a spacious and clean tattoo and piercing section. I was approached by someone immediately instead of the usual cold stares I've seen from other places. Mark, who turned out to be my new permanent artist (thanks Mark!), was courteous, professional and a great artist. I love my new tattoo, the price was great, I felt really respected and truly enjoyed the experience. Honestly what impressed me the most was how well they took care of their beautiful pet turtle. And their jewelry selection is amazing!

This place was awsome. They had the best selection of organic jewelry I have ever seen, and trust me, I have seen a lot. Not to mention the tons of other jewelry they offer. I got a beautiful set of plugs from them that Braindrops was charging three times as much for! Plus the counter staff was very helpful and perfectly professional and friendly. This shop is definitely one of my new favorites for the city.
Pros: Thats why you go to Haight St
Cons: I could spend too much time there

Don't support this business. They sold me body jewelry that was the wrong size, and wouldn't exchange for the correct size. You can't try the jewelry before your buy it for "sanitary" purposes, but I was sold the wrong size jewelry by their staff and they wouldn't exchange or install the jewelry. They told me that they were unable to install the jewelry because it wasn't a normal piercing size and they didn't have the equipment for it. Not only was it not a proper size that could be installed, but the design was bad, and 2 other piercers told me that the jewelry could cause damage to my earlobes because of the bad design and materials. This hardly seems fair, since you can't try the jewlery before you buy it, and then you're stuck with it if they're salespeople are wrong or have sold you defective, poorly designed merchandise.
Pros: fun to browse
Cons: defective jewelry, bad customer service, no exchanges
