I went in for a consultation with the director and top surgeon Dr Ella Fakrovich. Immediately I was made to feel comfortable and confident that she could restore my vision! I was sick and tired of wearing contact lenses! (I had worn them for over 30 years!) and the last two times trying to remove a contact lense from my eyes I ended up scratching my cornea! If you have ever done that to yourself you know what it's like, similar to having someone scratch your eyeball with a razor! Anyway, so I went in she was able to determine (through a series of tests) that I had an eye infection and some scarring on one of my eyes (after having worn those damn contact lenses!) and I was told they could not perform the LASIK (or in my case "PRK") until the infection was cleared up. That took nearly 2-3 weeks with some antibiotic eye drops they gave me. I thought to myself, Wow these people are truly professional, not just ...take your money, do the procedure and you are history. My eyes cleared up I went in for the procedure which was (I am not going to lie to you!) painful! (however I was advised of this during the consultation) I ended up being out of work for roughly 4-5 days on Vicedin! (again be sure to ask them, "PRK" is different than basic LASIK surgery, plus I had some scarring they needed to remove as well) All in all I DO NOT regret having this done. I can finally see again (even at night!) as some people warned me that my "night-vision" might be effected, not at all. Now I have 20/20 vision and I feel FREE from the burden of contact lenses(not to mention the expense of those!) So I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Ella Fakrovich to anyone! Everyone else at the Institure was pleasant as well! Front desk staff, financing lady, and my eye care specialist (doctor) that examines my eyes (Dr Fong) So if you are sick and tired of wearing glasses or contacts go have this procedure done! You will not regret it! Whats a little pain when you can have 20/20 vision once more?!

Pros: Skilled, Polite, caring, wonderful communication skills, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Pricey(but then again aren't all LASIK surgeries pricey?) Nothing else!

I’ve been toying with the idea of having LASIK for the past 3 years. My sister had it done last year at the Pacific Vision Institute and was very happy with the result. I read everything I could find on the web about LASIK, and Dr. Faktorovich consistently came up as the top choice. Finally, I asked my eye doctor, and he recommended Pacific Vision as well. I had Lasik there 1.5 month ago and my vision is AWESOME! I was very nearsighted and had astigmatism. Without my glasses I was toast. Now I’m amazed at the level of detail I see. I never saw it all in my glasses. The staff are very knowlegible and friendly. Even the girls at the front desk (BTW: all very cute) can answer majority of questions you might have. The doctor is very experienced and definitely knows her stuff. She made me feel completely at ease and it all made sense when she explained it. The surgery was very quick. It is BLADELESS! One of the things that were scaring me before was the use of a blade to make a flap. These people have been using a laser to do that part for a number of years now. In fact, all their equipment is top notch. When you go into their testing and procedure rooms it’s like something out of sci-fi movie. During procedure I had no pain of any sort. I felt a little pressure on my eyes at one point, but that only lasted a few seconds. When I got off the table I could already tell that the surgery worked. That night I went to the movies with friends and I could see everything! Thank you Dr. Faktorovich, you ROCK! My new eagle eyes are incredible!

Pros: Everything in this place is top notch

Cons: Cost corresponds to the quality of service... :)
