I have only had delivery, but it comes really quickly, it's hot and the food is yummy. I eat baby sushi (cooked stuff) but it was all delicious and so was the gyoza, the deep fried shrimp wrapped in bacon, the tamago and the chicken donburi. The only thing I wish they had was white meat in the donburi and chicken tempura!
Pros: Quick delivery and open kind of late

I went to this restaurant a lot of times. I love the sushi there and a lot of choice of sake for customer to taste. They have excellent service and good for group dining. In addition, they open late and reasonable price! I always recommend my friends to eat at his place!

My friend took me to this Japanese restaurant last Thursday night. Comparing to the Japanese restaurant in Japan town, this one is just average. The food is acceptable, but not as good as I expect.. Maybe I need to come back to this place to give it another try.
Pros: Valet parking

I love Sushi Rock and eat here all the time. It has great specialty rolls. Friendly service and the atmosphere is upbeat. Gets packed at dinnertime. What's also really great about Sushi Rock is it delivers. The Ice cream here is really good.
Pros: delivers! good sushi, friendly service
Cons: slightly overpriced for what it is

I remember 3-4 years ago this place served some pretty good sushi. Recently, I have had some really crappy stuff their. The last two times I ordered the fish was skinny and a little dryed out and the fried stuff seemed like it was prepared a half an hour early, as it wasn't crunchy or fresh. Did they get new owners or something?

Nothing special. Big selection but portions small and cuts to thin. the free icecream at the end was nice. try the green tea icecream
Pros: good service, free icecream, longmenu
Cons: noisy, average sushi

Stumble upon Sushi Rock while walking through China Town in San Francisco. Upon seating we were greeted by a friendly server with complimentary miso soup and cucumber/seaweed salad. The atmosphere was casual with a cool attitude. The food was fresh and delicious and the sushi choices were abundant. Great sake and a meal capped off with complimentary green tea ice cream. Overall a great find!
Pros: Great value and fresh food!
Cons: none

Went to Sushi Rock late at night, and it was still busy. Great group dining spot, and yes, they make your sushi to rock music. Like the music or not, the sushi is good, and make sure to try one of the Chef's specialty rolls, they are typically tasty, the 49er roll in particular. Nigiri is fresh and the pieces of fish are large, although the presentation is lacking if you are into that. If you are into great fish, at a decent price, early or late, give it a try. In a hurry? Sit at the Sushi Bar and they'll get you your order in a few minutes.
Pros: Fresh fish, large pieces, good for groups
Cons: Parking, music can be obnoxious

My bf and I dine in and order take out from here all the time. When we dine in, the service is consistently quick and friendly, regardless of the size of our group. The music is a bit loud, but I think that it supposed to add to the whole "rock" theme, but b/c of that, I prefer to order out and eat at home, even if that means skipping out on the free miso soup and ice cream... Rolls are interesting and tasty. It's not a spectacular sushi restaurant, but it's a good place to go to regularly. Who can afford to go to those amazing high-end restaurants regularly anyway??
Pros: sushi, price, friendly waitstaff
Cons: music is a bit loud

A big disappointment. This place ... to be fair, the decoration and all the containers are nice. Music and big TV are the plus. HOWEVER, this is not a place for good sushi. Good for group gathering and for drinks ONLY. Again, NOT a place for sushi. $15 for a mango spider roll? Fried oysters mostly flour and a very small oyster inside? If you are looking for a hip place to gather and drink, this can be a choice. They have happy hour from 3:30 to 6:30 that all drinks are 50% off and appertizers are 25% off. Good for drinking. But, if you are looking for a place for good sushi, don't go to Sushi Rock.
