I had Van Craeynest make a platinum engagment ring and matching wedding band for myself and an exquisite 18K gold wedding band for my fiance. You can take a look at them at my posts on pricescope, just search 'Van Craeynest Bands and Ering" I looked for a very long time for a jeweler whose ideals and style matched those of my own. I wanted rings that were extremely well designed and constructed, but also lavished with the details and mastery of a true artist. I found all of these qualities in Van Craeynest's work. They do not take shortcuts that otherwise compromise the quality and durability of jewelry, but their prices are also very reasonable. Larry really understood what I wanted; he understood so well that our rings exceeded my expectations and my imagination! To me wearing one of their pieces is like having the most detailed sculpture wrapped around my finger and being able to take it with me anywhere. I especially enjoy the fact that their pieces look spectacular both from far away and up close. Sometimes I look at my rings and just get lost in the details. Take a look at their website for ideas and be sure to call for information. I think Larry can do just about anything and he is fun to talk to.
Pros: Excellent products and service. No problems working from across the U.S.
Cons: I do not live in San Francisco so I have yet to visit in person. Someday...

I originally found Van Craeynest for my wedding set since I was looking for a place that would do very specific custom work. They took on the job and showed me through their impressive shop where they do all the work on premises. They are actually the last place on the West Coast that does REAL hand forged work. I have since contacted Larry for many other family jewelry needs. These guys are really the best!
Pros: REAL customer service, the best diamonds and jewels anywhere in SF
Cons: parking is difficult
