This darling hipster haven may be just another step in the facelift of Jack London Square, but the concept--all-day restaurant utilizing local, quality ingredients--has been a proven success elsewhere. For breakfast and lunch, the warehouse-looking eatery offers coffee, pastries and a small lunch menu (comprised of sandwiches like a grilled pork banh mi or classic Reuben and salads) from a walk-up window on the sidewalk; come dinner, the space, all reclaimed wood and low lighting, is clearly one for staying and sharing a lengthy meal with friends. Despite being labeled as mains, all dishes on the regularly changing dinner menu are best enjoyed family-style--portions are small, but with the impressive list of cazuelas (tapas-like dishes of meat and/or vegetables cooked in Spanish-style terra cotta dishes) and entrees like braised pork shank or chicken and dumplings, chances are the table will want to try a little bit of everything anyway.
