CAR CARE SERVICE

Now, I understand that my car is crappy and old (92 Civic LX), but Car Care Service was unable to align my car ($80) and charged me ($50) anyway. They didn't even get it "partially" or "as good as possible" aligned. Nothing. No alignment. Just a bill and a quote for more. They explained that they would need to fix the ball joints and bushings at a cost of at least $400-500 before they would be able to align my car. OH yeah, and it took them all day to tell me this (after they said it would take 1-2 hours to align). No one told me beforehand that I would be charged regardless of whether or not they would align my car. It seems to me that they gave me a quote for $50. Now, maybe others have had a great experience with this place, and maybe you will too, but they are not "the best auto repair shop ever". When I went to school at HSU, the local tire shop (TP Tires!!) aligned my car "as best they could", but because they couldn't "get it perfectly aligned" (due to a problem with the car frame which I did not know about at the time), they WAIVED the $40 fee. Free alignment. Now THAT is someplace I could recommend with 5 stars. Car Care Service on the other hand gets 2 stars, and only gets that because the (recently hired) lady at the front was very nice, and the manager (owner?) of the shop gave me and my fiance a ride home where we waited for them to complete the work on my car. Which was never done. Thanks for nothing.

Cons: Charged me after doing strictly evaluative work (which was supposed to be free)

I took my car there today and was helped by Wayne. He was honest and let me know that they couldn't help me but he went out of his way to be sure that I was taken care of. He referred me to a specialist and he even helped me get my car there. Even though Car Care Specialist didn't work on my car this time, I fully trust them and I will be back because of how great my experience was. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing auto repairs.

I came to Car Care Service because my brakes were making major noise and my transmission was leaking. I felt I was in very good hands working with the service people and my car was ready in less time than originally estimated. I am very pleased with my experience here. You are now my regular mechanic and I will always go to you when I have car care needs! Thank you!

Pros: Fast, great service!

Cons: You need to expand!

I called them with a very random issue - I changed my license plate number & couldn't get the old ones off to replace it with the new ones (bolts & nut were rusty). The owner (I think) told me to come on down so he could look at it. They (owner? & mechanic on duty) ended up helping me out & not charging me. They didn't make me feel foolish for bringing them my random problem. Nor did they say anything like "all you have to do is this" & send me away to figure it out - the mechanic on duty took a break from his work & took 5 minutes of his time to fix my issue so that I wouldn't have to wait around.

Being new to the area, I was a bit concerned about finding a good mechanic. I just happened to be driving down Park Street in Alameda and saw Car Care Service. I stopped in and found the staff to be very courteous..I was informed that this shop is under new ownership and they were very eager to add me to their client list. Again being new to the area I knew I had to start somewhere so I scheduled my car for service and I'm glad I did. Turns out these guys are terrific..nice folks, clean shop, fair prices and I couldn't have been happier with the results. I'm so glad I happened upon this shop. If you or anyone you know is looking for top notch mechanics, look no farther than Car Care Service in Alameda. Hey these guys even have a shop in Berkeley. Spread the word!

I had a great experience at Car Care Service in Alameda. Each person that I interacted with showed prfessionalism and courtesy. Alot of times, as a young woman, it is intimidating to interact in such a typically male envirornment. However, at Car Care Service, it was a pleasure and I felt very conmfortable. I could tell a huge difference after driving the car away, it was wonderful! Alameda, you're lucky to have this great business in your community, and to anyone else, it's worth the trip to Alameda! Also, the owner is really nice and accomodating.

I live and work in Alameda, so naturally I want to do all of my business in Alameda or as close as possible. A friend told me about Car Care Service and I'm so glad she did. I had extensive work to be done on my car and not only did they do a great job, but they had my car ready to go the same day, which is very important to me as I transport my elderly mother back and forth to the doctors office weekly. This shop is easy to find and is by far the cleanest I have ever seen, the staff there is wonderful too. If you are looking for a full service shop with fair prices and excellent workmanship you must check out Car Care Service. You'll be glad you did.

I've used these guys before for the servicing my Acura and my wife's RAV4. I was so impressed by their customer service and value I decided to use these guys to trade in my wife's RAV4 for a mini-van. So I recently bought a 2006 Toyota Sienna from these guys. Again great service. Mini-van is like new. They walked me through all the features of the car. (Saved me hours of reading the manual). Gave me spare paint for touch-ups in case of future stone chips (Will happen eventually). Filled the car up full of gas (Nice touch). I have no hesitation recommending these guys for your future car purchases and any service work you require. I just wish all car shops were this helpful and HONEST.

Being a single mom can be challenging to say the least, so I certainly do not want to stress over car repairs and with Car Care Service I don't have to, they really are a great full service shop. Very up front and honest. They went over every single detail with me and even let me look under the hood when I seemed confused about what was going on. They detailed their work step by step for me and made me feel that they really cared not just about my car, but about me and my family as well. I'm 100% satisfied and will definately go back.
