Two reasons to try LFFC: Secret (family-recipe) seasoning & 0% Trans Fat Frying Oil!!!
by scoobydu1969
I discovered this little gem on Broadway at Grand Avenue a couple of years ago, and I have NEVER been disappointed. An easy walk from 19th Street BART station, and at the apex of several AC Transit lines, my ability to grab dinner (with no car) on a weeknight or Sunday chicken for sports on TV has included a twice a month trip to LFFC-Oakland since we met! It is fun to see the "church" crowd on Sunday dressed "to-the-nines," and lunches are VERY BUSY. The spicing of the chicken is so good, but my reasoning for the splurge is the NON TRANS FAT canola oil they use to fry with. They are simply MUCH BETTER than the Colonel, especially the side dishes. If they decide to open on Saturdays...then we are flirting with perfection. Helpful hint: The new location at Fruitvale BART station is the perfect stop on the way to see the A's at McAfee. They let you bring your own food to the games!
- Pros: Proximity to BART, Fair Prices, 0% Trans Fat Frying Oil
- Cons: Closed Saturdays, Mac-n-Cheese needs a little touch up
Not good southern cooking

Went once and thought it was yucky, gave it a shot a year later when I was told it was different but it was the same. the service was bad. The mix up your order and your leave with someone elses food.
