Totally professional and educational - with excellent results...

I visited Spring Life because I was having severe lower back/left leg/sciatica issues. It had gotten so bad that I was having difficulty walking more than 5 minutes without needing to sit down. I was growing hopeless, and fearful that surgery was going to be inevitable.
I had two treatments in about three weeks ago and I'm happy to report that I've been virtually pain free since then. Tim was great - this being my first acupuncture experience, he walked me through the process and explained what he was doing every step of the way. He took time to explain the basis of Chinese Medicine and how it relates to Western Medicine. The actual needles themselves don't hurt - it's more like a little pin pinch... During my first treatment, Tim had me stand up right after he inserted the needles, and I was amazed that I could notice a relief in pain right away.
I've been able to resume physical activity - in addition to walking without issues, I'm back at the gym and on my bike. I would definitely recommend Spring Life to anyone seeking this type of treatment.
- Pros: professional care, flexible scheduling, takes insurance, plenty of parking
- Cons: none
BEST HELP I EVER HAD!
by cineruss at Citysearch
I can't tell you how appreciative I am of Dr. Yan's services at Spring Life. I came to Spring Life for assistance in constipation, ED,and lower back pain. After a totally professional and caring interview, Mr. Yan suggested organ massage and accupuncture. After two visits my back pain is GONE! My bowel movements are regular and erections are returning with a new twist. I feel a sense of power regenerating in my lower body I haven't felt in years.
I have never tried Chinese medicine but have a deep respect for the practice. After going to Spring Life, I am convinced of its ability to bring health to the total body. Although Spring Life doesn't say much about male impotence or male issues in its advertisements. However, I TOTALLY recommend Spring Life to men who are having issues. He is a total professional. Thanks so much Tim.
- Pros: Great location in Hercules. I haven't visited San Francisco yet
- Cons: no cons
Great Chinese Acupuncture Doctor in the East Bay
by chargois at Citysearch
This was my first experience at using alternative medicine to resolve a physical problem with my body. I must say that Tim Yan is very professional and extremely knowledgeable of the Chinese art of Acupuncture medicine. Tim worked with me from a very painful beginning to a satisfied healthy patient at the completion of my treatments. Tim told me before we started just how we were going to attack my back problem and what steps we would take along the way. I was surprised most of all by the fact that the needle insertion felt like a small pinch and to tell the truth they were really no big deal at all. I guess Tim realized I was apprehensive because in his professional approach he checked with me for needle pain at every step. I must admit I certainly have come a long way in a short amount of time due to the professional diagnosis and treatment I received at Spring Life from Dr. Yan. I entered Spring Life less than two months ago with severe back pains so intense that I could hardly walk and today being a happy satisfied patient after being treated by Tim and most importantly I have no pain at all. I would like to thank Dr. Tim Yan and Jo Ann for all of their help and I would certainly recommend Tim?s Acupuncture diagnosis and treatment to anyone!
- Pros: Outstanding Service to the Community
- Cons: None
Finally, a traditionally trained Chinese practitioner in the East Bay
by j0j0 at Citysearch
As a San Francisco native and Chinese-American, I'm familiar with the practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Timothy brings Traditional Chinese Medicine to a new level. His knowledge and training, while based on Traditional Chinese Medicine is explained in a way that anyone can understand. He explains the what's and why's of what he will do before he does it. Timothy taught me how the imbalances of energy affected my physical and emotional health and treated my whole body instead of concentrating on specific symptoms because everything in the body is inteconnected. I'm so glad that I no longer have to make a trip to San Francisco to seek quality alternative treatment.
Spring Life is a general practice location that treats many health concerns including pain relief, constipation, infertility issues, PMS, IBS, depression and anxiety. That's just to name a few!
- Pros: Close to the freeway, easy parking, flexible scheduling, accepts most insurance plans and the practitioner is an excellent educator.
