I don't give good recommendations lightly. Heck, by bothering to write a 5-star recommendation for this guy means something! Go into the store at 4th and Brannan and you'll get the straight dope from Robert. He's a nice guy, a local business owner, and doesn't try to sell you. He's there to help you get what you want. My experience was great. The price was right, and several hundred dollars cheaper than any of the other custom sofa places. Although he quotes 6 weeks, I think it was quicker than that. All in all, I'll send anyone there to buy a sofa. Beats any other place I went to, hands down.

I would highly reccommend sfsofas when looking for a quality sofa or sectional made locally with a lead time beat by everywhere Ive been. I've been to Room and Board and Pottery Barn and found similar styles for 1/2 the cost. I was also able to add a quality sleeper for $300, choose the cushion firmness I wanted-something you cannot find anywhere. The owner Rob quoted 4 weeks and it arrived on time and I loved my choices. Rob was very personable and knowledgeable with fabric choices. I have referre him to many friends. I give sfsofas a 10!!

We shopped all over for the right sofa and didn't find it. Thankfully, we went to sfsofas first to look at custom options. Robert is knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and offers great deals. We found the sofa we wanted on his showroom floor, and then he went the extra mile to find the chrome legs we wanted instead of wood for a more modern look. They hand-delivered our sofa just when they said they would, and Robert even drove back later that day in his own car to deliver a cushion that got fogotten in the delivery. Hard to believe with his level of service, he keeps his prices so reasonable when compared to other retailers. From now on, when we shop for furniture, we'll turn to him first.
Pros: great values, great service, great selection
Cons: website doesn't show enough inventory; pictures too large to navigate

I am a total fan of Robert and his SFSofas store. I bought a wonderful aubergine velvet sofa which I love. He also helped me purchase fabric and arranged for coordinating custom upholstery work done for 2 chairs and panels for a set of French doors. He was totally committed to my happiness and he succeeded. He even opened the store on a day off to accomodate my schedule. I don't know how you good find a better option.

Just bought a sofa from SFSOFA. Robert's customer service was excellent, he had a lot of patience and suggestions for me, since I was unsure what to get. The options were astonishing, and the prices much lower than the traditional furniture stores and showrooms. Delivery was on-time, and I did not have to move a finger...best of all the cushions on this sofa have a lifetime warranty, where else do you get that? Highly Recommended!

I am a Interior Designer and worked with the owner when he was at another place. Was happy to find him again-when I heard there was a new custom showroom in Soma-I crossed my fingers it was the same guy-and it was! Robert helped me with my entire design project, from custom sofas, to window treatements and slip covers, truly saved me alot of time with 1 stop shopping. And the quality is fabulous.

Ive been looking around for a month, went all over 9th st-prices too high, un-friendly people, one place with the funky chair on sidewalk-very pushy, then I heard about the new place in soma my coworker told me about and the guy solved all my problems. Shop no further!

Found exactly what I wanted for half the price. They offered the same Pottery Barn sofa for $800 less and much faster turn around-4 weeks-amazing!

I was having a difficult time finding an affordable sectional that could be modified. I was able to add depth and a sleeper for the best pricing Ive come across in my search, and turn around was very fast-I was very impressed, and owner much fun!
