After spending years looking for someone in San Francisco to do my extensions, I found Giacomo. He specializes in extensions and it shows! His work is the best I've ever seen. No one ever guesses that I'm wearing them. They are so natural. He is professional, easy to work with, puts his clients first, and does not have a bit of attitude. He uses only 100% human hair that has never been chemically treated, and he is up on the latest methods for extensions. The last point is important because so many other salons in the city only offer weaves or extensions that are glued in. Prior to finding Giacomo, I spent 5 years going to Mary Amen for my weave. I kept noticing that my hair was getting thinner and thinner and Mary told me that it was probably aging, stress, or my diet that was causing my hair to thin. I found out only after going to a doctor who specializes in hair loss that the weave was the cause and I had traction alopecia. I felt very betrayed by her, because I believe she knew why my hair was thinning. I would caution anyone who is getting weaves to stop immediately! I never had thin hair until I started getting them. I originally got the weave to wear my hair longer, but they ruined my hair. Giacomo has been able to restore my hair and get it back to a healthy place. The extensions are much more natural looking then what I wore before. I would recommend him to anyone. Also, Miguel, who works in his salon, does an amazing job on color.

I ave been going to Giacomo at studio 211 for over 5 years and my hair is extremely shall I say challenging. It is very fine and frizzy wavy, curly.I have never found any one who can deal with it and make me look sooooooo good if I do say so myself. I have gorgeous blonde extensions and a beautiful hair piece that is so natural! I hane Barbie perfect hair all the time and allof the hair is human and gorgeous. Giacomo is extremely sensitive to my privacy and is kind and totally knowledgeable about what he does and does the best.5stars. if there were ten stars I'd rate at 11!

Gary Paltridge is the best hair artist I have ever encountered. Heis able to accurately assess and recommend styles which flatter your face, suit your image and work with your hair's natural qualities. His perfectionist standards and precise haircutting skills work to your advantage, because you'll always leave his chair feeling and looking fabulous! Wherever I go, I get complimented on my hair. I've been a loyal fan for over 10 years!

Gary was recommended to me by a friend that has gone to him for 8 years. He does a phenomenal job with short hair. I love my hair cuts and he understands what you want and recommends what looks good for your face and hair type. He styles your hair really nice as well. I have people stopping me all the time and asking where I get it cut. I am always giving his number to friends and people. If you have always had short hair like myself. You will not be disappointed!

I've been going to Gary Paltridge for about 7 years. Having lived in New York, Chicago, and D.C AND having long, curly auburn hair, I have seen many hairstylists over the years, and Gary is the best bar none. He is the only one who can cut my curly, long hair in a way that keeps it manageable, stylish, and beautiful. My hair could look like a bad bushy 80's perm in the wrong hands, but Gary keeps my long curly locks in great shape. I have been stopped several times on the street with people asking where I get my hair done, and I always recommend Gary. Long and curly hair is the hardest to do anything with, but Gary works wonders - and no one else could have done my hair on my wedding day. Had I not lived here, I would have flown him in! Other friends of mine go to him for coloring and cutting as well and LOVE him. I highly recommend going to him - he'll sit you down and figure out why cut looks best on you, not just the latest craze. And he'll honestly tell you if he thinks something you want to do won't look quite right on you. He's just the best!

I have been going to Gary's who is now at Studio 211 for close to 10 years. I have waist length hair. Before Gary, my hair was lifeless, dull, and badly burned from years of poor maintenance and botched up perms. I used to think my hair only looked great with a permanent. Gary taught me to love my naturally long straight hair and brought it back to life. He trims my hair and also highlights it. Everyone compliments me on the beautiful hair color, shine, and healthy condition of my hair. My hair has never looked better and even has grown longer than it has ever been able to. I could not conceive of seeing any other hair stylist but Gary. I will continue to see him even if I move thousands of miles across the country. He is that good. Thank you Gary.

A friend recommended Gary Paltridge to me about seven years ago, and after sufferring through many years of bad hair cuts I am happy to report that my hair is in excellent hands! I'd been pretty skeptical of finding someone who could style my wavy frizz-prone hair so that it would behave even after I'd gotten it home from the salon. Not only does my hair look great after Gary has cut and styled it, but it also grows out nicely for weeks afterward. Through the years Gary has recommended styling products that have helped keep my hair in the healthiest condition that it's ever been. Thanks to Gary I never have to fear having my hair cut again!

I moved to SF 11 years ago and was nervous about finding the right stylist to cut my curly layered locks. I called several salons looking for someone who specialized and/or excelled in cutting my type of hair which can be very curly in some parts and not so much in others (i.e. high maintenance). Gary was recommended and has been cutting my hair ever since. It was apparent to me then and remains true to this day, Gary thoroughly enjoys his craft. Not only is he extremely skilled at cutting, he is an excellent colorist too. Oh and did I mention he is just about the nicest and most thoughtful person you will ever encounter in his industry? He listens very carefully and is very attentive to details. I have recommended several people to him and they have all come back with rave reviews. I couldn't imagine going to anyone else.

Pros: Parking is cheap and easy at the Sutter Stockton garage

Cons: I never have enough time to shop afterwards!

Gary Paltridge is the best hairdresser I have ever met. Before I foun him, I was never really content with my haircut. It always looked good after I had been to the salon, but I was unable to re-create the look. Not so with Gary. He cuts hair, so it suits the shape of your face and the texture of your hair. I love the cut because no matter what I do in the morning, it look s great. Not only do people often compliment me on my super-cute haircut, they also love the color. Gary is amazing with color because he picks just the right one to flatter my complexion. Even though I have moved to SoCal, I still go to him to get my hair cut. Need I say more?
