High quality sushi
by wunic
We ordered a variety of sushi rolls. The flavor, freshness, and presentation exceeded our expectations and place this meal in the same catagory with some of the best Sushi restaurants in the Bay Area. The service was quick and the servers were helpful with our order. You will not be disappointed with the food. We plan to become regular customers and look forward to trying out other dishes from their extensive menu.
- Pros: Everything, parking was easy, service was great
- Cons: Nothing

i found this this place on city search & dang! what a good find. my bf & i went there on friday for dinner. there was quite a long line when we got there and we we're seated about 30 mins later. the hostess asked us if we wanted a table or if we wanted the bar since it was open. we dont normally take the bar seats but my bf was starving so we just took it to avoid to wait any longer. and boy aren't we glad we took the bar seats. the sushi chefs were awesome! we got our food very fast. thanks sam! =) the pineapple swan & sake was great! =) did i mention how good the sushi rolls are yet? ooh-my-gosh! the up to heaven roll is just devine, so as the dancing oyster roll.... u guys gotta try it.! we also had the tokyo and 1 of the special of the day the hogan roll. we enjoyed the atmosphere at semo & the staff were very friendly & attentive. we definitely are coming back to try more of their good food. =)
- Pros: good food, friendly & attentive staff, lcd flat screen tv- u can watch flicks while chowing.
- Cons: small waiting area? =)

Extensive menu offers everything from traditional teriyaki to creative concoctions like the Sex in the City and Victoria's Secret rolls.
A little piece of heaven...

Come here. Eat here. You'll love it. I promise. You'll walk in to every worker in the joint yelling "Welcome!" in Japanese with a smile to welcome you in. It's busy on Friday and Saturday nights, but it's well worth the wait. The fact that the servers are extremely friendly and very helpful is just a perk to the package; the best part about the Semo Sushi experience is definitly the food. There are pages upon pages of rolls; the presentation of the food is fantastic. I'm a chef myself, so I would know a good layout when I see one. They know me by name here! I love it! It's too bad Olive Garden already has the rights to that slogan of theirs, because it would fit the place perfectly: "When you're here, you're family." I'm so glad my friends made me come here. You won't be disappointed!
- Pros: Parking, Atmosphere, Service
- Cons: None
They are so rude!
by imblacksoilikechicken
I just ate at semo sushi for my first time ever, and I didn't feel welcome. My friends were irritated because they got our friend a birthday cake and we sang and everything. Then the workers didn't want to give us any plates for the cake. I heard that the waiter told us to eat with our hands or something. I felt like good service was taken away from us just because we were all relatively young. Its like our money wasn't good enough, even though our bill was over $150. The workers were forgetful with a lot of things we ordered.
Terrible customer service, great food
by pieloo
The food there is great. It's the cheapest sushi around, but is still good quality. The customer service is slow and some workers are rude. I have never left this restaurant in a good mood. They are lucky they have good food. There's no such thing as a quick snack at this restaurant because even when barely anyone is there, they still manage to take 30 mins to accomodate you. It disappoints me that they still have the same workers. The service really brings this restaurant down.
- Pros: Parking, Location, Food
- Cons: Service
The Best!
by crosbieclan
Semo Sushi has the best food! The service is slow and the restaurant is small but it is so worth it for the food! Unfortunately many people have discovered the wonderful food so it can be crowded but if you are willing to wait and arne't in a hurry to get anywhere you will be so glad you came. (As a matter of fact... why am I encouraging more people to go there? I shoudl keep this wonderful find to myself!)
- Pros: Sushi, Best Food, Sobi and Teryaki
- Cons: service, busy
For sushi lovers only....

Found this place through some of my friends in fremont. This place is like a diamond in the rough. I've been to some good japanese restaurants, but semo had some of the best fish i've ever had. The sushi chefs are very knowledgeable and the staff is extremely friendly. I almost feel like family there since they know me by name. Their kitchen food is very good and their sushi rolls are to die for. Try the Semo Spider or the Victoria's Secret. You wont be disapointed.
- Pros: good parking, friendly service

I go there last friday we had to wait a little bit for a table since there was so many people waiting out the door. Once we get sat down and opened up a beautiful and extravagant menu which i have never ever seen before i never knew i was goign to be in for the best sushi ride of my life. food came out instantaneously and when i saw the food and the portions i was in awe . The presentation was beautiful , the fish tasted like it came out of the sea and service was GREAT.All i can say is THANK GOD for SEMO now i dont have to drive all the way to the city to get some decent fish. i would also like to say that the sushi chefs were damn good eye candy for me and my friends.
Go there and experience the fun.
