I had a Horrible experience!

I did not have a good experience with Lightning Van Lines. I DO NOT recommend this company.

My experience:

The company's original estimate seemed like a good deal. But after the delivery, they charged me twice the amount of their original quote. So instead of $2,300 it was $4,500.

It cost $4,500 to move a one bedroom!! The heaviest thing I had was a treadmill.

I paid to have them pack my stuff. To be fair, one of the guys was great. He was very careful in packing. The other two guys were horrible!! They would open a drawer and just start throwing things into a box. For example, they threw my $500 radio in a box with shoes, a scale and other random belongings. And when I say threw, I mean they didn't organize the box, they just started tossing things in like the box was a waste basket.

I paid extra to have them transport my stuff on to a smaller truck because an 18-wheeler could not get into my complex.

The delivery person didn't read this on my contract. We had to remind him on the day of delivery. So they were a day late because they had to rent a UHaul. On top of that they didn't call us to let us know they were on their way.

What was broke: The leg of my treadmill, dining room chair, dining room table is incredibly scratched, wooden TV tray stand and bedroom TV stand.

And I have some random things missing which means one of my boxes is missing/was never delivered.

What makes this experience even worse is their claims service makes it a huge pain to get reimbursed for damages. It's not even worth it because you get .60 cents per pound and you have to provide pictures and have a furniture repair company come to give estimates on how much it would cost to fix. You have to provide those estimates to Lightning Van Lines.

So basically if they broke something, you have to go through a long, time-consuming process of getting estimates. And if you have something that is expensive but not heavy that broke, you won't get anything for it.

I will never use this company again, and I advise you not to either.

They were *four* hours late, and broke my door and step, smashed a window, and lost three of my boxes!!

We want you to know that we were very happy with Lightning Van Lines service and would highly recommend them. Both our moves, interstate (California) and cross-state (New York to California) were efficient, and the staff courteous, professional, and competent. All the teams were very helpful to our entire family and made the moving experience so much more easier. We would use Lightning Van Lines again.

lightning van lines - graet choice

just wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for my experience with Lightning. The crew was respectful, professional and extraordinarily considerate. Everything was handeled with care and attention to both my and the buildings requirements. The move itself was quick and painless and our belongings arrived on time without any damage. That's the best you can expect from any moving company. I definitely recommend them.

THE BEST MOVING EXPERIENCE

I have moved quite a few times in the past few years and I have to say, I have never experienced such professionalism during a move. I have already recommended Lightning Van Lines to many of my friends. In the future, when I move, Lightning Van lines will always be my only choice! I strongly recommend Lightning Van lines movers to whoever needs a moving company.

Lightning Van Lines - highly recommended

I used Lightning Van Lines when I recently moved out of my apartment. They were excellent. They were very professional during the actual move. The movers were very friendly and handled my stuff with care...nothing broke!!! Top to bottom this was a good experience.

Lightning van Lines - Appropriate Name

I called a few moving companies including Lightning Van Lines for a last minute move (within Castro Valley) about a week ago. They were the only company who gave me a fair price so I decided to go with them. The guys that came to my house was really professional and sensitive. Because it was a last minute move I did not have the time to organize everything so they helped me pack and they were FAST.. I had a three bed room house with a lot of kids staffs.

I had a great, fast and successful move.

Great Move

I liked these guys because they were incredibly fast and efficient, they came on time, and they came in well below the estimate. Everything was handeled with care and attention to both my and the buildings requirements. The whole process is stressful enough, and the guys who helped me totally took away all of that stress. GREAT MOVING COMPANY , GREAT COSTUMER SERVICES.

Wrost Moving company. Please don't move

I had the worst moving experience by hiring Lightning Van Lines, Inc. Please stay away from this company. They delivered my stuff late and on top of that they lost my two boxes including my dvd player, I have filed report against them on better business bueru also. Good luck on moving and please stay away from them. !!!!!
