Kingmans is terrific! 1st off it is a great lounge to hang out with friends.. red walls, soft lighting and couches describe the place... Dj's everynight.. usually start around 830 or 9... bartenders are a lot of fun and seem to know there cocktails well and always willing to work with the customer for that special drink... They specialize in martini's and have a great drink menu... also from 5 to 8 is happy hour 1$ off bottle beer and wine and $2 off well drinks...and from 8 to 9 is lucky hour and it is half off well so can get a cosmo for $4.00 every day of the week.. finally it is nice to hang out with friends listen to great music and not have to cross the bridge... lots of restaurants in the neighborhood for a quick bite or dinner as well...hint city parking 1 street behind!

We went to the Lucky Lounge a few weeks ago for the first time for my birthday party on a Friday and had a great time. The bartenders were a lot of fun and made the best cocktails. The crowd was very diverse with a lot of early twenties to thirties professionals who were more about having fun than being seen. And the DJ spun a smooth groove. It's like being in the city without the drive. Since then, I've been back a few times during the week when it's mellower and it's a great place during the early evening to bring some friends and hang out. Thanks Lucky Lounge--you're now on my permanent list of places to go.

Pros: Great Crowd, Yummy Cocktails, Excellent Service

If you are tired of making the drive to the city to have a good cocktail and hang out with your friends, then Kingman's Lucky Lounge is just what you need. There are plenty of couches and chairs to relax in while enjoying a fine crafted cocktail. Thursdays and Fridays have DJ's spinning downtempo grooves, and Wednesday the lounge hosts an open DJ happy hour. If your from the east bay, or even if your not, Kingman's is a great place to visit.

Pros: great drinks, great atmoshphere, great happy hour

Sexy singles on the prowl, loving couples, friends celebrating birthdays, neighborhood regulars, the occasional celebrity/athelete, all meet at this classy joint for well-mixed drinks and good conversation. The only place I know of in the Bay Area where you can relax in an authentic lounge sans SF attitude. Awesome crowd, good drinks, great bartenders (wink, wink...)

I live in the neighborhood and am a regular at this little Oakland gem - SO a few "upgrades" to the reviewer notes: Happy Hour 5 - 8 every day featuring 2.50 premium beers, 4.50 wine, $3 hiballs and $4 margaritas, manhattans, cosmos and martinis... take that for value! The Lucky Lounge always has a wonderful crowd - reflects the diversity of the area and --- No Wankers. You can't beat it if you live in the East Bay - why cross the bridge? Also - Djs spinning Fridays too now.

Pros: Atmosphere, Great drinks, friendly staff

Cons: crowded on fridays

They usually have quite good music playing at Kingman's, fitting the mood of the crowd and the time of day. Romantic, colorful spot with nice, vintage sofas and armchairs - a hip, clean place with a great drink selection.

Pros: great atmosphere, comfortable

Cons: No DJs

Editor's Review

A slick, cosmopolitan drinking spot with DJs on a sleepy suburban street in the East Bay.  See the full editorial review.
