Best Romantic View of East Bay

by toncho32

Great pastas, Wine Menu, Cocktails, never a long wait, and the view mainly on 4th of July it's great, perfect evening romantic getaway. I've been to many Napa bistros as well as great restaurants in Sausalito and San Francisco, this place is peaceful, private, and the service is great it's a great option so you don't have the long wait & fight the traffic either(Fast Kitchen too) And the fireplace in the lounge it's awesome. I love it!!!!

  • Pros: Very clean, no long waits, no traffic, definitively a great time with your better half
  • Cons: Maybe the cold air of the bay for outside diners, but that's about it

Fun brunch spot

by elaine23

I checked out the DF for brunch Sunday with a friend who lives over near Crockett. My friend got the crab benedict, an obvious choice given the nature of the restaurant. I stayed with the theme and got the crab omelet. Both items were really tasty with the fresh crab. My omelet had fontina, avocado, onion and tomato and was cooked perfectly. A fun and tasty brunch!

Great place to have a drink and watch the sunset!

by sd84

The Dead Fish is a great place to have drinks. The friendly staff continuously brings you warm and fresh bread while slip on drinks and overlook the water as the sun sets. I have not eaten dinner here yet but the appetizers and the atmosphere are great!

  • Pros: fresh hot bread, great service, and romantic.

Don't order lunch

by eats_a_lot

My dungeness crab sandwich came to the table as a french dip. When they corrected my sandwich, it was more like bread with a little strand of crab. I was very disappointed with my order, but I saw all the steaming, sizzling crab and shrimp skillet platters coming out for other tables and I was very jealous that I had not ordered that. On the other hand, the steamed clams were delicious. My side salad was pretty tiny. They should really take off the crab sandwich from the menu if it is going to be so skimpy on the crab. I'm dying to go back to try their platter plates.

  • Pros: clean and elegant
  • Cons: lunch menu is bad

Great Food - Great View - Great Romantic Place!

by crosburg

The bruschetta was fantastic! Over New Year, our family went with both sets of parents/in-laws and kids. Good wine list, too. We were seated at a window overlooking the new Carquinez bridge, which is beautiful at night. The food was excellent and service was good. Overall a fantastic experience for our family. We have yet to go as a couple, but I know it is a romantic place just from our visit. The restaurant is reasonably priced and it's much needed in this area -- there are few good seafood restaurants around! I highly recommend.

  • Pros: Beautiful View, Romantic, Great Seafood
  • Cons: Crowded

LOVE IT!!

by an6el1022

The food, service and atmosphere...everything is A+....I use to go here every payday with my coworkers....Until I found another job.....I highly recommend the muscles, or I always get the prime rib/dungeness crab platter....The price is about 30 bucks for that...which is reasonable because the food is excellent!! Though when it's packed it's hard to get parking and you have to park up the hill across the street...but I DO NOT MIND...because i love this place!! Just a tip that you should make reservations ahead of time....

I can die happy now

by venusflesh

I went here for the first time on Thanksgiving of this year (2004), and what a FANTASTIC choice it was. I was in hog-heaven, eating some of the most DELICIOUS, amazing food I've ever had. The bruschetta was TO DIE for! The calamari was also quite good, and the salmon with the lemon-butter sauce was SUPERB. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also great, and the staff was nice and friendly. I give this place a 10-- I will DEFINITELY be coming back here!

Excellent

by carl031968

Recommended by a friend, I was more than pleased with the results. The service was great, our waiter was especially attentive making suggestions for us along the way. From the bread to the entree's, everything was excellent. I was with a large party so there were plenty of different plates on the table. I especially recommend the Lasange-Prawn combination. It's the best of both worlds. The prawns were loaded with garlic essence and the lasagne was reminiscent of my homemade masterpiece. It's a little out of the way as far as location but it would not hinder me from frequenting the restaurant. Prices are comparable to any other upscale restaurant and definitely worth the money

  • Pros: Well worth money
