I found the salon on this site and booked an appointment. As soon as I walked through the door, I was welcomed and made to feel very comfortable. The salon was very professional and warm at the same time. Karen knew exactly what to do with my hair and took her time creating the best hair color I have ever had. I was also treated to a make-up session and a great hair cut. The salon was busy with return clients and I will definitely return as well. I felt great when I left and my hair has looked better than ever for weeks.

Walking into the salon, Karen Davis immediately made me feel warm with her personable style. This is a cozy salon, no pretentiousness about it and Karen is a perfectionist! My hair glistened after the service and every detail was magnificent. Karen knows hair and color and made sure I was fully satisfied. I walked out feeling completely happy and have been going back since. The salon is clean, tastefully decorated and Karen is constantly sourcing new products, keeping up with the trends and sharing that with me, every time I am there. I also love Amber, the budding stylist who is talented, skillful and trained very well by Karen to provide an experience worthy of return each time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a warm, skillful experience where you get to know the people who make you look beautiful!

Russ has been cut and coloring my hair for over 10 years.When I first came to Russ my hair was fried.He advised me to change products that were more gentle and had a more natural color.My job is in the public eye and he makes sure I look current and natural.I have never had so many compliments as to the way my hair looks.I now drive over 1hr to get my hair done by Russ and I know it is well worth it.The music is great also.

Russ Bard is one of those really rare finds - a truly talented stylist who gets to know you and your hair and GIVES YOU WHAT YOU WANT - or a convincing explanation of why you can't do it. Since discovering Russ through a colleague whose hair always looked great, I've gotten tons of compliments on my style. And I can recreate at home the same look he gives me in the salon, so I feel confident every day. Actually, since I started going to Russ I've pretty much had NO bad hair days!! Even on a recent three week trip to Asia, where water, climate, and everything else was completely different, his cut held up beautifully and made me feel like a chic traveller. I'm thrilled to feel that, at least where hair is concerned, I can count on Russ to keep me at the top of my game and looking great. Russ is great to work with. He'll suggest styes, show you pictures, and talk with you until you're completely sure that you know what you want to do, and that you and he have exactly the same result in mind. He also gives you a lot of feedback on your hair's condition and how to use products, brushes, and tools to keep your locks at their most healthy and beautiful. He really makes you feel like he's on your "team" and wants you to feel great about your hair. Combined with his obvious talent, you can't ask for more than that!

I have gone to Russ for quite awhile now and recommend him to everyone. He gives me a great haircut and highlights every time. I have received more complements on my hair since going to him. He takes the time to discuss the best options for my hair and honestly says what will or won't work for me. I followed his recommendations for style and especially color and have never regretted it. The salon is clean and stylish and women of all ages go there. They have up to date products and good music and the atmosphere is fun. Highly recommend this salon to anyone.

I got the worst haircut ever from here. I am much younger than the regular clients but walked out with the same haircut! I was disappointed that I paid $70 for a haircut my boyfriend could have given me. Prior to cutting my hair, I told the stylist my concerns and some of the characteristics that my hair has, i.e. really short and spiky new-growth hair. He just dismissed my concerns citing that it must be due to my shampoo and that I really should be using $25 a bottle shampoo. But to be fair, my hair would look fantastic on my mother. So unless you're at least 45 years old, I don't recommend this place at all!

Pros: good for 50 year olds

Cons: not so good for anyone under 50

Russ is a genius with hair color and styles. Magnolia Salon is elegant, and relaxed. I highly recommend!

Pros: Relaxed, atomoshere, nice ambiance, parking, intimate salon.

Cons: Can't think of any! Seriously!

i got the best haircut ever yesterday...karen is fantastic.....did a wonderful job ...her apprentice daughter amanda did the best hairdry ever ( the fiter won't let me write bl#w out ..an inappropriate word) my sometimes frizzy and poofy hair is sleek and smooth....worth the 70 bucks :)

I had gone to the same hairdresser for 25 years and had to find a new one so I was SCARED! especially since my hair is all white and I wear it brown /blonde -- I found Russ at this salon in Larkspur off Citysearch andhe is fantastic!! Russ is a quintessential color expert!! He takes so much pride in using the right products and getting the color you like ( and he does too). Each time I go it gets better and better color! And this is not to slight his ability to cut your short hair Fabulous cuts -- Everyone in the salon is great and do you know the owner gave me $ 50.00 worth of products because they were installing an air conditioner while I was there- The Best!! Ask Russ if you can listen to his CD!
