Even if you're not Indian, as long as you adventorous and can stand spicier fares, I really recommend this place. Reasonable prices, and exotic stuff you cannot find in other Indian restaurants. On weekends, the cook even more authentic stuff that few non-Indians have tasted!

  • Pros: Weekend specials
  • Cons: Closed Mondays

Great Indian chaat, more variety than I've seen anywhere in the bay area. It's always busy and crowded here. Don't come if you're looking to sit down and be served.

  • Pros: Yummy food
  • Cons: Busy and crowded (but isn't that usually a good thing?)

Vik's Chaat Corner is one of those hole-in-the-wall cult restaurants that every serious foodie thanks God for after trying. Yes, it is in a warehouse and often times the line is out the door..and yes, you are lucky to get a table- and if you do, you are lucky to get a clean table...but when you see people eating plates of Indian food on the street curb outside the restaurant because they couldn't find a seat, much less a surface, to eat on- you know the food must be good.

Vik's IS that good- every bite triggers an amazing rush of flavors and senses that teleport you to a new region of tastiness. This food is addictive and you WILL be back for more- even if you have to stand in a long line and eat on the street curb.

  • Pros: Amazing Food- worth the trip
  • Cons: Long lines at times, hard to find seating, cleanliness fo tables

In Short
Indian box lunches and hearty side plates on the cheap are served up pronto, fast-food style, in a bare-bones former warehouse that fills up despite its size. Daily specials include one veggie, one chicken and one lamb or fish entree, with rice, chappati (flat bread), papadum (crisp chips), raita (yogurt) and achaar (spicy pickle). The weekend menu is more extensive than the weekday offering and includes biryanis and kababs.

I don't want to hear complaints of the food being fried or that it's bad fast food. C'mon. For $8 you get tasty food, you get full and you get to try stuff that isn't offered at most other Indian restaurants. When you're only shelling out $8 why would anyone even mention the words "ambiance" or "bad service." This is food made fast...what do you expect. And yes, this competes with southbay locations, without having to go to the ugly Southbay. Get a life people...this is good stuff. I'm Indian and I know what's good.

  • Pros: cheap, good quality, fast, unique
  • Cons: long lines

sub-standard indian fast food that may appear to be a good deal on the surface, shares same chick-peas masala for a number of dishes and downright rude customer service. much better indian food is available in southbay where there is intense competition which brings out better tasting indian food.

Vik's is absolutely my favorite place to eat in the bay area. The food is so wonderful, just walking in the door makes me happy. Especially recommended in the Masala Dosa, although be aware that the weekend menu is much more extensive than the weekday menu. There are currys and special items that are not available during the week.

  • Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, lots of seating
  • Cons: Hours, weekday menu

  • Pros: VARIETY!, Inexpensive

Lots of fried food, served in a warehouse by rude people. I think people go here cause they think it's a hip place to eat because the line are long, but the food is below par. Lots of better places for indian food.

  • Pros: price, ample parking
  • Cons: food, service, lines
