I got my girlfriend and I a weekend package with a room, meals, couples massage, ect. and we booked everything months in advance. We even confirmed the week before for our couples massage. When we got there they said that there was no such apt for us and that they would do it for later, but they would have to see if they could find someone to come in and do it. The impression was that we were wrong and that we were inconveniencing them. Then when we did get our massage we had two guys, one of which joked while he massaged my girlfriends butt. Needless to say we will never be going back to that spa ever again. The hotel is pretty nice for a weekend get away though.

From rude staff that lies to you when you try to book an appointment to missing spa attendants and masseuses who don't understand what "firm" means, I am very upset with the Claremont. I have come here many times before and ever since the change in ownership to KSL, the Spa has been a joke. The prices have become ridiculously high and now they even charge an extra $5-$10 on everything from Friday to Sunday---just because they can. I'm tired of paying that kind of money and hearing people carry on conversations outside my treatment room and not being taken care of to ensure that MY needs are being met, not the staff person's needs. I'm fed up with the Claremont. They now have a limited spa menu with bigger prices. It's a joke for anyone who has been a longtime client...like me.

Pros: Easy Parking, Coffee nearby

Cons: Inattentive staff, way too pricey, reservaation agents who lie

I was disappointed with the experience from beginning to end (including dinner afterwards). I was pretty shocked to receive such poor service after a friend with superlative taste recommended the Claremont. Do yourself a favor and locate your nearest Aveda spa if you want real spa treatment. I've yet to try Bliss in San Francisco but may brave the drive in from the bucolic east bay if this is the best to be had here. I'd like to think the staff are overworked, but the poor service seemed endemic.

I've been to Spa Claremont five or six times, and my feeling on this place is mixed. One time I had a body wrap and the treatment room was right next to the main hallway. Throughout my treatment I could clearly hear the conversations of everyone passing by, and the stomping on the stairs were distracting. I was frustrated that my supposedly "relaxing" treatment was full of noises. Another time I had an aromatherapy massage, and the experience was decent except my treatment time was slightly cut short. My boyfriend and I also tried couples massage once, and we enjoyed the service but I found the women's dressing room / shower area to be extremely crowded. Having to wait in line to take a shower after my treatment was not acceptable to me. My most recent unpleasant experience with the spa is that they mixed up my appointment date and left me a voicemail confirming the wrong date. I played back their message to me several times to make sure I didn't misunderstand them, and it was clear that there was a mix up somewhere. Upon calling them back and worried that I won't be able to schedule anything for the day I wanted, the staff receptionist rudely insisted that she didn't make any mistake and it was me who "heard" things wrong. Then she hung up on me. I just can't believe the customer service at Spa Claremont is so poor!! I've put up with the little annoyances from the spa before due to the fact that I live in the East Bay and it's certainly more convenient to drive to this nearby spa versus a trip into the city on the weekend. After the lastest experience, I'm sure I won't go back for any more poor and unprofessional treatment by the staff.

Pros: beautiful location, easy drive, parking

Cons: crowded on the weekends, rude staff, noisy hallways during treatment

I am a big fan of spa and I used to go to south east asia for spa treatment. I have the bamboo and lemongrass scrub treatment in here. This is supposed to be a 50 mins treatment for $120. The lady first applied scrub on my body for around 5-10 mins, then rinsed my body (5 mins), dry my body, then use 2 large wet (hot) towels and put them on the front side of my body, I guess that's what they call wrapping (5-10 mins). I was left there for the rest of the time. The towel turn cold during my 'resting' time. After sometime, the lady came over and told me the treatment was done (!). I was so surprised as there is not even a single drop of lotion applied on my body and I was let go. The hotel with good view and restaurants. The spa is old and crowded with people. Spa room is ugly and no decoration. I have to line up for shower and I don't feel relax at all. This Spa is a joke and it is not comparable with the spas in Asia. The price is simply outrageous given the treatment that I received.

Pros: Classic hotel, view

Cons: Price, service

The Claremont is a beautiful, posh spa perfect for indulging. It has the whole 9 yards: white robes, minty ice water, sauna, big jacuzzis...and the treatments are great. I have had relaxing massages and facials here (although if you're not a fan of painful extractions, make that clear when you schedule your facial appointment), a nice conditioning hair mask treatment, and a ultra-shiny pedicure that lasted forever. What's best is that spa guests can enjoy the hotel's amenities for a day - work out at the ritzy gym or lounge by the 2 pools after enjoying a delicious sandwich or fresh salad in the sun. Yeah it's pricey, but it's worth it!

Pros: beautiful, good services, great selection

Cons: pricey

I went in for a bridal hair up-do...luckily as a practice prior to the big day. Andrew was highly recommended to me when I called to make the appointment. I knew something was wrong when he started off by blowdrying my totally dry hair...I hadn't washed it that morning yet. I showed him an exact picture that I wanted for my hair and what I got was far from it. It looked more like a practical joke than a style appropriate for the grace of my wedding day. I could do a better job by myself at home...if you dare to try out the services, make sure you go in for a practice first.

Pros: No wait, Beautiful setting

Cons: Overpriced, Didn't listen to me, No sense of style

that's what they make you feel like at this overrated, super-expensive spa. i've been here twice in the last year and both times i've been shuffled around like cattle from a facial to a late massage appt. i gave it a chance, living in the east bay it would have been nice, but i can't waste any more time, energy, or money on this place! the massage therapists seem very inexperienced and are very focused on time rather than relaxation.

Pros: nice location, beautiful view

Cons: expensive, inexperienced, unrelaxing

The massages here are to die for, but when it comes to the price of relaxation, be ready to pay for it.
