It's always fun to go here with a group. The seating is interestingly arranged. The bread they use for dipping is not that great, but the sauces are good and the fruit is pretty good.

I went with a group of high-school friends as a reunion, thinking that the food would be great. Unfortunately, I found the cheese fondues to be overly bitter and the chocolate fondue actually worse than what I make at home. The service was extremely slow and we ended up spending about 2 hours there. I don't think I would go again.

I was visiting from out of town and my wonderful friend took us to this restaurant, her favorite. We absolutely loved it! The Parmesan Cheese fondue is a must, the wine was absolutely delicious. The best way to end the night was the chocolate fondue, with the fresh fruit. So tasty! We had a great time, it was a beautiful night and it was the best way to spend it. Can't wait to go back when we are up in norcal again :)
- Pros: Excellent Fondue, fun atmosphere

Fondue Fred has the best fondue around! By far my favorite place to dine in the bay area, everyone I have introduced to this place feels the same. They start you off with a fantastic fresh salad, tossed with a unique house dressing you won't find anywhere else. They have the best selection of fine cheese (I recommend the Fiesta and Blue cheese fondue, they are to die for!) with delicious bread, chips and fresh veggies to dip. Then it is time for the chocolate fondue, served with an assortment of fresh seasonal fruits, I hear the cheesescake is very good as well. Overall a great place to dine, you can even come in just for the chocolate! you can sit indoors or out. A Perfect for a romantic evening or with family and friends. A++
Fun for everyone!

Fondue Fred is a cozy little spot on Telegraph ave that serves fine Swiss Cuisine. The service is great and the staff is very friendly, They greet you with a warm welcome and a smile on their faces everytime you come. The salad is very good i LOOOVEE the dressing. If its your first time i would recomend the Fiesta cheese fondue or the Parmesan cheese fondue both are VERY good. Then to top things off they serve a really good chocolate fondue with an assortment of fruits and marshmallows. I highly recomend Fondue Freds for a romantic night or fun with friends!!
- Pros: great service, Best fondue, Friendly staff
- Cons: parking

I have only ever had fondue at home or with friends...So I thought it would be fun to go somewhere that does it professionally. The cheese fondues just has a very bitter taste. I don't know if that's normal, but when my friends make it, it's delicious. The service was also very very slow. My friend and I went hoping that we could grab a quick bite and ended up staying there for 1 & 1/2 hours. The server also forgot what we ordered several times. I never want to go back there.
PROS:
CONS: Bad Service, Bad Food
Rather all you get (inTime) than all you can eat!

Visited Fred with a group of 9. It was pretty cold outside so we asked for another heater - which we finally got after 30min and begging about 4 times. Fred was serving alone most of the time - so it's not his fault that it took quite a while to serve us the first round of wine (all you can drink!). The steak fondue is more a goulash than a real fondue. The meatball fondue is ok, though I think the meatballs were out of a can. Weak bread and raw veggies come together with cheese fondue. Mmm.
It always took ages before we got the fondue refill.
The coffee (served 15min after the cheesecake) was so cold it almost got warm again.
Still - all you can drink wine! Always fun with a big group! And he allowed us finishing the drinks even though hed to close! nice.
- Pros: all you can eat, all you can drink
- Cons: slow service, food not worth $26, cheesecake

First let me start out with, this is not a cheap place. If you're on a budget, this is not a good place to be dining. But for such an expensive meal, you do get what you pay for. You get servings of cheese and dip in your favorite meats, vegetables, bread, or anything on their menu. Melted cheese fondue is not the only thing served. There is also chocolate. You can dip fruit, crackers, chocolate, anything you wish. It is absolutely wonderful. The service is nice, the waiters are friendly. Though, this isn't a family sit down place, this is a place for mature adults just wanting to sit and have a nice French meal.

Quaint little spot with yummy traditional fondue which was very authentic. Service was attentive and couldn't have been nicer. Romantic for two on a cold evening, also tons of fun in a group. A great little find!
- Pros: great fondue, nice service, cozy atmosphere
