Great local place

This Burmese restaurant looks like any other typical restaurant that you may find in Berkeley but they have a large selection of garlic noodle creations. If you like garlic and noodle, this is the place to be. They have dishes such as the Mango Garlic Noodle which is extremely tasty and flavorful. The staff is friendly but sometimes, there may be negligence but hey, good food does not always translate to good service.

I love finding foods from different parts of the world, and you find that here at Nan Yang. It's Burmese/Myanmarese food, which is something between Chinese and Thai. You will find curries, noodles, and rice. The fun dishes are the rice combo (four different types of rice, including the most-yummy coconut rice); a green papaya salad is light, delicate and delicious; and the garlic noodles are simple to die for. They are thicker noodles with lots of toasted garlic tossed in.
Prices are reasonable.
Food is very good.

This place has a mix of chinese, vietnamese and thai influences and the food comes out delicious! It also is cooked in a more healthy manner and isn't as oil-rich as other asian restaurants. The salads are delicious and very flavorful. Ambience is great too.
Tasty, good value...

Not sure what the other reviewers meant by "miniscule portions" but if you are used to the disgusting, mammoth portions at chain restaraunts, then perhaps you will not be satisified by the portions here. The portions are perfect for one person, and the flavors are bright and fresh- can't attest that they are authentic Burmese, but it's a
good value for interesting, tasty food. Try the garlic noodles with mango for an unusually delicious meal.
Better be full after 4 bites...
