The atmosphere is pleasant, but the food is very, very, very bland and generic. Not what I consider high quality Italian, and rather pricey.

Best in East Bay

The best polenta I ever had is served here at Milano Ristorante in Oakland. Creamy polenta, with grilled quail topped with marsala mushroom sauce. Everything about our party was grate, from service, ambiance, friendly staff, food, and drinks. Next time you are there ask for Milanos Electric Current Martini. This was the best Martini I ever had. The place is happening and exciting. The best feature about this restaurant is their private banquet room. I celebrated my wifes 40th B-day with forty of our friends.

Good but overpriced

The atmosphere is fabulous! Food is good, portions a bit on the small side and overpriced. Service is mediocre... I'll go again, but only if I have a coupon.

A great experience

Was there for my birthday. Wait staff is excellent, they made it special for a birthday and were not overbearing. Has a homey feel to it. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and they can accomodate larger groups.

Sunday Night Date Night

Milano is an excellent little location. Prices are great and the food is delicious. My beau and I go there every Sunday night for date night. We've never had bad service or bad wine. Everyone gets a free bread with melted cheese and marinara- and it's yummy! When the weather is nice, they open up the huge doors and let the air in. A fun little spot with a cute bar!!

My server wore a Looney Tunes tie!

Milano is a joke. I've been twice and both times have been a complete failure! The ingredients for the fried calamari tasted and looked like something from the frozen food section of Pack 'n Save. My server was nervous as he read (and mispronounced) the specials. He lacked training in serving as did the bartender. It's a shame that such a beautiful building is wasted on this travesty of a dining establishment. I will never go back!
