Caters to Chinese Patrons

After reading all the reviews here, I was surprised, I have always received excellent service at this restaurant, and it is one of my family?s favorites. Then, I realized that most of the reviews were complaining that the waiters spoke little to no English. True. This restaurant caters specifically to its Chinese patrons, and doesn?t worry about interlopers who don't speak Cantonese. Unfair? Maybe, but this restaurant has thrived for many years, and the food is always excellent. I guess if you want better service, learn some Cantonese.

- Cons: can be busy on weekends

I've eaten here at least a dozen times. I love their dim sum, they've got a beautiful view, but it never fails, everytime I go here, I get the worst service.
Every server barely speaks English and is just improperly trained. You literally have to call them over a couple times just to get your glass of water filled. And forget trying to order a dish you don't know the name of, for you'll end up struggling trying to explain the dish to like 3 different servers and getting the wrong dish brought over to you 2-3 times before they get it right.
Seriously, if it wasn't for the food, I would not come back.
If you do plan on trying this place, go when the Blue Angels are practicing. You'll get tasty dim sum, an awesome view and a great show all at once...maybe it'll get your mind off the terrible service.

Have been there for dinner once and thought the place was elegant. The food was delicious, and able to see the city lights.
Went back for dim-sum on the weekend, and it was packed!!! Had to wait 30mins, but it was well worth it. And this time I was able to enjoy the view in day light, spectacular.
A great place to go for special occassions and for great food!

Excellent view of the city - especially for a Chinese Restaurant. Food is excellent. And the place is always packed. Service is good though they can use more staff.
Try their Fried Custard buns....they are soooo good. And not all restaurants offer them fried. Price is fair for the food and location.
Nice place for lunch - can take a walk outside afterwards to enjoy the ocean breeze during summer time (too cold to walk after dinner).

Nice quiet Chinese place with incredibly delicious dishes; try especially the black bean sauce clams and the house noodle; also great views of the Bay. A little pricey for Chinese, and difficult to find, but well worth the effort.

The food is great here, but the service is horrible. Receptionists aren't friendly, and it takes forever to flag down a waiter for anything. Luckily for the restaurant, they've got a great location and decent food to make up for the help. Still worth the trek out to Emeryville - and the view is spectacular, so try to get a seat next to the window.

Waited at lease 10 minutes for out server to arrive, hardly spoke ANY English, then waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Very small portion (at lunch) and nothing special as far as taste. I've had much better Chineese. Left the place hungry and angry. Will NOT go back. This place really pissed me off.

Went for dim sum this past weekend and I think it had to be one of the worst dim sum experiences ever. We ordered our food using the checklist, as opposed to ordering off of the carts, and it took 30 mins for the first dish to arrive, and it was the desert dish!!! other tables that sat next to us got served much faster. our food was cold, the waiters were idiots... took our tea kettle to add more water and forgot to bring it back... Made the rest of my saturday afternoon a bit bitter

I had the best BBQ Pork buns here. They were delicious. The views were beautiful and the restaurant was very clean. The pork shu mai was a little funky but the shrimp was excellent.

Authentic, delicious cuisine in a magnificent atmosphere. Dim Sum Brunches and good catering, too. Lovely, lovely bay view.
