Thanks to the value driven philosophy of john diruocco, our green coffee buyer, we’re happy to bring you this top auction lot processed by the nyanja coffee mill in the kirinyaga growing district. This coffee has pleasant jasmine & clementine mandarines flavors, supported by sweet chocolate & cognac undertones, followed by a subtle winey finish.
12.10Organic Ethiopia YirgacheffeYirgacheffe, ycfcu co-op. Washed, fair trade, organic. This washed coffee comes from the yergacheffe growing region of southern ethiopia, which is known for producing distinctively floral- & fruit-toned coffees. This coffee in particular, displays notes of bergamot & lavender, complimented by flavors of sweet citrus & vanilla w/ hints of berries & chocolate.
10.80Organic MexicoChiapas, orpae co-op. Fair trade, organic. This coffee is grown in the southern tip of mexico near the border of guatemala. This coffee demonstrates the best qualities of mexican coffees. It has a well balanced body that is smooth & clean, w/ a sweet nutty flavor featuring hints of berry, cinnamon & milk chocolate.
10.75SumatraTano batak, lintong. Rainforest alliance certified. Lintong is the region along the southern part of lake toba & has become synomomous w/ the coffees that are grown there. Lintong coffees are farmed by the batak people, & tano batak simply means “land of the batak”. This coffee in particular has been picked, density sorted, & then hand sorted & the result is a coffee that displays a heavy, velvety body, flavors of earth & cedar, followed by hints of cocoa & caramel.
11.00GuatemalaLa maravilla, huehuetenango, estate. If we set out to build the ultimate coffee, we’d start out w/ an elegant floral aroma, layer in flavors of citrus & chocolate, support it w/ a heavy, velvety body, then finish w/ a sweet, lingering aftertaste. We wouldn’t be surprised that it came from a heavenly, high altitude farm nestled in the clouds, & if we tasted it, we’d certainly want to share it w/ everybody. Well this is that coffee! Fortunately, mauricio rosales & his crew at finca la maravilla did most of the hard work for us at by oak wood roasting this coffee has been allowed to reach its marvelous potential. La maravilla translates from spanish to “the marvel” & we can see why.

Grown by the cenaproc co-op in the yungas region of bolivia, this has become one of our favorite coffees, having purchased it for eight consecutive years. This is an intense coffee roasted very dark, yet just shy of french roast, it has good body, low acid & a delicate sweet-smoky flavor w/ hints of caramel & vanilla.

An unusual indonesian coffee w/ a brighter flavor more typical of central american coffees, high quality png’s like this are often considered to be among the world’s top coffees.
