Personalized Super Service in a Buffet Here!. Soon as my husband & I were seated, an all-smiles lady promptly came & asked what beverages we'd like. Used to self-service buffets, we were delighted that she would care to ask, ready to serve.

"No thanks, cold drinks are no good for a sore throat," I said even if my husband paid for the entire buffet & drink combo.

"Oh, I have the right drink just for you -- hot tea with lemon & honey. If you like, I'll get that for you as soon as I write my name on your receipt. Is that ok?" she asked. She wrote down Tamara.

Tamara disappeared into the backroom looking for honey and returned with hot tea & squeezed lemon -- that came cup after cup after soothing cup!

We watched Tamara sweep the floors strewn with food by overactive kids on the middle aisle -- and she did it with grace. This place is impeccable compared to the other Hometown Buffets in the area we've been to. Tamara's active happy broom is responsible.

Today, on my husband's late birthday celebration, we're proud to have found not only a peaceful place for a good buffet but also a person of goodwill like Tamara. Her attentive personal service is like a refreshing spa to the human spirit. She has made two weary souls after an exhausting workweek feel spoiled and special. We hope that management would recognize her on our behalf.

Perhaps Tamara echoes the leadership. I was meandering around the salad bar searching for light dressing. A lady in uniform who's clearly having her meal break, stood up & came to offer help. "I'd like some balsamic vinegar for dressing but you don't seem to have it in your menu today," I said. She led me to where the bottled condiments are located and asked if there's something else I needed. Such class! Talk of personalized service. This charming Filipino lady is, we learned later, the MOD. No wonder Tamara shines. She's taught by example.

To all patrons out there, visit this UNION CITY HOMETOWN BUFFET. Even on a Saturday like today, it is spanking clean & loaded with fresh food. Most of all, look for a lady named TAMARA and HER LADY FILIPINO BOSS---- more so when celebrating a birthday. You'll have the time of your life!

bad managers!!!. We were told that we can reserve the seats when pre-paid, but everything changed when we got there. We had to wait, even the friends already inside had go out and wiat! The only reason given is the policy-the changed policy! Cannot believe this happened! This is the WORST restaurant and the WORST managers WE (10 people) have ever seen! Strong recommend be careful when you get the FREMONT HOMETOWN BUFFET. This is a bad restaurant!!!
