Horrible People

My family and I lived at a CWP apartment for one year and our experience was terrible. Our troubles began at around 6 months into our lease with a leaking pipe from the upstairs unit bathroom. The problem was never completely resolved even until the end of our lease term and we felt compelled to move out. Throughout this ordeal I tried to call the office to get some results and the office manager was rude, disrespectful, ignored my call and raised her voice at me when I finally did a chance to speak to her. She said they were working on it, although we never saw any satisfactory results. It was this treatment and the fact the repairs were never completed that prompted us to file a lawsuit against CWP.

Added to our aggravation was the fact that my new bride and I were expecting our first baby throughout this ordeal. We wanted to resolved the damaged ceiling and subsequent damaged furniture before the baby was born-but that wasn't the case. We were put on the CWP back burner on their list of priorities.

During the small claims proceeding Karen was quite eloquent in her defense and in her words, but she and her witnesses falsified many points of facts. In spite of her lies the judge saw through her words, looked at the facts and ruled in our favor. To be fair CWP did try to settle this out of court but we wanted to bring the lawsuit forward to expose the type of company and the type of people CWP is. Of course there was a chance we stood to lose, but for us it wasn't about the money. We believe that we were good tenants in that we paid our rent on time, there were never a complain lodged against us, and that they returned our deposit in full and without questions.

It wasn't really the point that we won the case but to bring to light that CWP doesn't always treat their tenants professionally and properly. In looking at some of their other reviews, we know that ours is not an isolated case. We hope after this experience CWP and their management team can treat all their tenants with respect and decency and to address their issues in a timely, polite and professional manner.

I feel bad for you if you are reading this after doing business with CWP. A piece of honest advice, STAY AWAY! They will lie to, harass, and belittle you.

I'M GIVING THIS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY A THUMBS DOWN BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE ME AFTER MY APPLICATION PROCESS INCLUDING THE $25.00 APP FEE AND A HIGH CREDIT SCORE. I EVEN HAD GREAT REFERENCES FROM PAST LANDLORDS! I PASSED EVERYTHING WITH FLYING COLORS AND THEY STILL SENT ME TO PLACES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMPARED TO NEW JACK CITY. VERY DISTASTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONNAL ATTITUDES EXCEPT AN EMPLOYEE NAMED PHYLLIS WHO DID TRY IN THE BEGINNING TO ASSIST BEFORE THE 25.00 APP FEE! MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION BUT I WISH I WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE ADVICE OF THE REVIEWS BEFORE I PLACED MINE!
