La Pinata Fan
by pizzy79 at Citysearch
I am a huge La Pinata fan. But this location is not the best. I have been here almost 20+ times though. The last time my favorite thing on the menu (crab legs w/garlic butter) was served to me in a not so fresh sort of way(like it was cooked and then reheated) and i was told by management if i reordered it would have to pay next time. Needless to say i have not been back. Other members of my party were satisfied though. Hayward also has great food but not the extensive menu. Wait times can't last up to 30 minutes but the bar area if usually open, and a great atmosphere. My fav location i will not reveal too crowded already. As for this location go early or late when the cooks have more time.
- Pros: when crab legs are made right they are the best in town. huge platters.
- Cons: parking is tight, but there is parking behind the building

La Pinata is great

I think the other reviewers have this La Pinata mixed up with the one in Hayward. It is the same company, but there are 7 locations. Some large, some small.
The hayward one has great food but is often crowded and is very small.
The San Leandro one has more to offer. There is a full bar & a large dining room. The menu is expanded from the smaller locations (and costs a little more) it includes not only the mexican fare of the Hayward one, but more Mexican food & American food.
You get chips & salsa with your meal, the portions are huge, and it's all pretty tasty.
It's not the best mexican food around (I am more partial to small taquerias for my favorite mexican food) but it's one of the best sit down mexican restaurants.
- Pros: big portions, good food
Great Mexican Food
by lord_humongous at Citysearch
This is the best Mexican food I've had in a while and it was at a great price. However, one problem is that this place is small so you may have to wait. And the service wasn't the best. They seemed to just have random employees wander around periodically. I had no idea who the waiter was or the busser, a different person would come by every once in a while.
- Pros: great food, inexpensive, good parking
- Cons: poor service
Yummmm!

Great food! There's always a line waiting, but it goes quick! The food is great and the food is authentic. They serve a whole fish, and when there's too many in the restaraunt is smells a little fishy. But it's all null once you're food comes! yummmmmmmmmmm
- Pros: food
