Step back to the 50’s, about the same time the food was prec. Place was decorated like a restaurant from the 50s, but poorly maintained with tears in the seats. Ordered their Famous Emil ribs, cooked from a old family recipe learned from the Indians according to the menu. Ribs looked like they were cooked yesterday, so dried out that even the BBQ sauce on the side couldn’t revive it. Maybe that’s the Indian recipe for jerky, but not for ribs. Better off at Texas Roadhouse for ribs than this ancient mausoleum of bad decor and food.

Better breakfast food can be found elsewhere.. Location: Emil Villa?s is conveniently located near downtown San Leandro. There is a parking lot located behind the restaurant and there is ample street parking available.

Ambiance: Emil Villa?s has the feel of an old diner/coffee shop. There are booths throughout the place, as well as seats at the counter. Unless you don?t mind smelling burnt food, I would advise against sitting at the counter because of its close proximity to the grill. During the course of my meal I could smell burning food coming from the grill on at least two occasions.

Service: Our server was friendly and attentive, and our meal was served promptly.

Food: I ordered a breakfast entree that included 2 eggs, a choice of hash browns or fruit, a choice of meat (bacon, sausage, ham, etc), and a choice of bread. I selected the hash browns, bacon, and sourdough bread. Although the bacon was particularly good, I wasn?t all that impressed with the eggs or the hash browns.

Summary: I have had better breakfasts at other local establishments and advise you to go elsewhere.
