Castro Valley Ice cream Parlors - LOARDS.
Castro Valley is known for its Ice Cream Parlors - Three come to mind when driving around the valley. Castro Village hosts LOARDS Ice Cream.
Its good, friendly and pricey. I would guess the price reflects the high cost of the rent in the shopping Village.
The kids that scoop up cones and sundays are friendly. Loards was always noted for its female scooper's a tradition. The 2000's have brought guys to the counter and thats a nice addition.
I recommend the Banana Sunday - but try it without the hot fudge..
