Vizions Beauty Salon. Bo did my hair. I've worn a relaxer for years but now that I'm older I decided that coloring and relaxing my hair was not something I wanted to continue...one of the processes would have to go. Reina introduced me to Bo. She said he was the expert in transitioning my hair. I explained to Bo the pros and cons of my hair (ladies know your hair and what you want to achieve and discuss it in detail and be satisfied that you and the hair stylist are on the same page). Bo was so confident that he could give me what I was looking for that he told me that if I wasn't satisfied ... DON'T PAY. The oiliness is gone from my hair, he covered the gray wonderfully, my hair is thicker, shinier and my roots are softer and straight all without a touch up from a relaxer. Like I said eariler ... Kinda pricey but worth it. I have another appointment today @ 6:30. OH ... A shout -out to his assistant "Baby girl" ... can't recall her name right now but she is an up and coming hair stylist well on her way to being one of the great ones like her mentor.

Beware. My hair was severely damaged after getting it flat ironed and pressed by salon owner Reina Murray. I noticed more shedding each time but nothing outrageous until her last service. My hair came out in chunks the following day. I lost all of the back hair and had short spots througout. The remaining hair had the protein bonds permanently broken from too much heat and was severely damaged. Reina was unapologetic and defensive, stating that my hair "just couldn't take the heat". I told her that I had the same service many times at other salons and nothing like this had ever happend. She simply gave me an opened box of conditioner and shampoo that was not for heat damage. I was devastated and near tears, but her ultimate advice as just to talk her to court. I don't even have the emotional energy to proceed, but I do not want anyone to experience the trauma that this shop caused. Please beware!

Excellent Hair Salon. After reading one of the reviews on CitySearch, I made an appointment to see Reina. As described, by the reviewer she is very professional and gives you good advice on your hair. The staff are very friendly and accomodating and the prices are decent. They even offer you free coffe and tea! The parking lot is very small, if there isn't any parking, you'd have to park on the street. Its located near a really busy intersection across from the Southland Mall. I am happy that I found this salon because it is very hard to find a decent hairstylist for African American hair.

use caution.... I had scheduled my appointments for my wedding months in advance, and confirmed it the week before. However, on the day of the wedding they were an hour late. I ended up waiting in the parking lot, with no way to contact them. Once in, it was fine - but it caused a lot of headache and unwanted stress on the morning of my wedding.

The Best in the Bay!!!. Vizions Beauty Salon is the best Salon i've been to in my life and that's no exaggeration. Not only are their prices very reasonable the people are really friendly. Reina is the best always ask for her. She will tell you what to do to keep your hairstyle up and how to keep your hair healthy. My hair has never been in better condition. Vizions not only does African American hair, they do everyone!!! And I mean everyone. It's a wonderful salon with a wonderful atmosphere. Remember if you go ask for Reina, she is absolutely awesome!!!
