Very satisfied but... Because of limited parking when it can get crowded, that is a minus in my books. Other than that, pizzas are great tasting, I like the place overall, the prices were reasonable to the sizes and the service was good. I would come back here again.
This King Arthur-themed restaurant dishes out pizzas, sandwiches, salads and more to hungry families and couples on dates..
In Short
The first Round Table Pizza opened in Menlo Park, Calif. in 1959. Today, the chain boasts more than 500 restaurants internationally and is recognized for its made-from-scratch dough, mozzarella, provolone and cheddar blend and gourmet toppings like fire-roasted Roma tomatoes, creamy garlic sauce and salami. Pizzas are available in pan and "skinny" (aka, super-thin) varieties. The menu also offers up turkey, ham and chicken club sandwiches, bread sticks and salads.
Pizza with NO Cheese!!.
We've been ordering pizza (delivery) from this Round Table for a couple of years and had always been satisfied with it until tonight.
We ordered a Chicken Garlic pizza, something we've had from this Round Table several times and enjoyed. Tonight we were in for a surprise:
No Cheese!
First, I wondered why the box seemed lighter than usual. Then, I bit in to a slice. It was so dry that I stopped and looked closely at it. There was no cheese at all, nor was there any of the usual white, creamy garlic-laced sauce. WTF? I put it down, called them and spoke to their manager. She really didn't want to believe me but agreed to send us a replacement ASAP. Her first offer was to just send us a coupon but this pizza was inedible and we were hungry. She rushed it and the pizza arrived in about 25 minutes. It was better, definitely had cheese (but hardly any garlic).
The additional irritating thing was their delivery driver. We had quit eating the no-cheese-pizza while we waited hungrily for the replacement. When we handed it to him, he opened the box and looked at it and agreed that there was, indeed, No Cheese. But, instead of apologizing for their screw up, he seemed to be mad at us! Then he commented that we'd eaten a lot of it. WTF, again. I made him slide everything around back into the shape of the pizza. There were 2.5 slices gone, according to him, out of the 12 slices (as they cut it). My hubby had eaten 2 while I was on the phone. 2.5 slices out of 12 = approx. 20%. I was getting madder by the minute at the idea of this idiot trying to make us the bad guys when they had screwed up so badly. He saw my face and made a quick exit.
I'm still mad.
Up until tonight, this would have been a four star review. I noticed the voice on the phone when they took the order is new and heavily accented. I wonder if there has been a change in ownership/management.
Damn. Now we have to look for another pizza delivery place.
wonderful pizza. I love Round Table; I always have. I really like the dine-in area on this particular one; there's alots of light and a lot of room to eat. They even have the classic salad bar that not all Round Table's have anymore. The food comes out quick, the employees are nice, and free refills on soda!
