Krung Tep Thai Cuisine. The place was just recently renovated and has come back to its original ownership. No more tacky flowers and such. The restaurant was quaint, and had a nice mellow ambience. More importantly, the food was amazing!!! It was byfar the best Thai food my family and I have had in the El Cerrito/Richmond area. This place is such a gem because the owner/cook is this nice elderly woman who does her own cooking (it gives an authentic mom and pop feel). We ordered three dishes: chicken yellow curry, pad thai, and moo yung (spelling?) bbq pork (the entire dinner came out to $30). Although the pad thai was not THE best I've had, the two other dishes were! You could definitely taste the coconut milk in the curry, and the bbq pork was juicy and tangy (you could eat it w/out the sweet and sour sauce). GREAT service, SPECTACULAR FOOD, affordable prices, and a quiet and clean place.

Greatest Owner on the Face of the Planet!. Okay so I have to admit that I was a bit nervous when I first went to this little place in El Cerrito. The style of the restaurant is a bit lacking. The fake flowers almost attack you as you walk through the door..... HOWEVER, forget the atmosphere! This place is all about the food and how much the owner loves to cook. On the right night she will come out of the kitchen and visit with you. This is trully a special treat.

Her food is awesome and her company is almost that of a very wise grandmother. Eat until your past full at this great place. The owner and staff will certainly make you feel like a movie star!
