I love this place. My favorites are the
yellow curry, pineapple fried rice, thai ice tea. My roommate did not like thai before but after eating here he loves it. The staff is friendly and the waitresses will answer your questions and recommend bear or dishes per your taste. I go there all the time and whether you eat in or take out it has always been good eats.
'by the way it does not look like much on the outside but it is cute inside. def worth a try!
The best Thai around!. We have been dining at this establishment for over a decade now and I'm embarrassed that I have never come here to leave a review! This is a wonderful family-owned place that always makes you feel welcome. The food is always fresh and the staff is always friendly. Another reviewer was unhappy with not having a takeout menu available. I have odered "to-go" meals from here many many times and never had any trouble when asking to "see a menu" so I can choose my items. A menu was always given happily. The food here is amazing! If you like Thai food or have always wanted to try it, the Bangkok is the place to go!
less than stellar.
This is a neighborhood restaurant in a working class neighborhood. Warmth and personality should be a given in light of adequate, not great, food and an absence of atmosphere.
I was stunned when I first entered the restaurant and upon asking to view a take out menu was abruptly advised that those seeking take out should consult the on line menu, that take out menus were not provided. When I politely noted I was there, wanted to order take out, and didn't want to go home to consult the menu I was reluctantly given a menu to examine: bizarre.
It was made evident that my business was of no concern to the wait staff; I am moving to the neighborhood and have been required to rely upon this restaurant several times: I have never been acknowledged as a repeat customer, and all service has been abrupt and indifferent: I have been made to feel as if my patronage is an immense inconvenience.
The food is, at best, mediocre. Frozen vegetables are clearly a staple. Despite this the food is standard price to competitive. On the contrary, for a similar price, a nearby competitor off Pleasant Hill Road south appreciates business, and provides better food, better service, better ambience, and better attitude. This restaurant, on the contrary, should be reserved for when you have few other options.
Amazing Thai Cuisine. My husband and I chose this little restaurant for our new year's eve dinner. We found it via this website and thought we would give it a try. We are very glad we did. The food was amazing! It ties (with Peanut Sauce Thai Cuisine in Tacoma, WA) as the best thai food we have ever had, and we eat thai food every chance we get. The waitresses were very friendly and happy. We felt genuinely welcomed the moment we arrived. The only thing we would change is the ambience. The restaurant was clean and the decor was nice, but a few candles and maybe dim the lights would greatly add to the ambience of this wondlerful (but hard to find!) restaurant.
