Dry, fishy, and upset stomach aftermath..
The headline I added pretty much sums up my experience at "Jo's Sushi" restaurant".
I read other reviews and thought that those people with negative oppinions just had different prefrences when it came to sushi. I've had a wide range of sushi resturaunts, so, I can tell what sushi is at it's freshest. I had such a horrific experience at Jo's sushi that I will never eat there again. And I do eat A LOT of sushi.
Jo's Sushi Bar is Fantastic!. I don't know what Maestro72x & spawn350 could be referring to? I have dined at Jo's at least a dozen times, and the experience is always one of freshness, hospitality, and the familiarity that makes one become a "regular" customer. Jo is a sushi chef in the "classic" sense, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Volcano Roll or ICHIRO-LL from their maki selection, and ask Jo what he recommends. The only "one star" reviews he has received are from users who have only reviewed Jo's, not very credible. Reads more like reviews from the competition, written on successive Fridays none-the-less. Eat at Jo's!!!!
Disspicable.
Avoid this place or you will get the plague!
The most horrific sushi I have ever endured. I wish I could give it no stars. I even joined citysearch for the first time ever to post how bad this place is. If I had sushi like this the first time, I would never EVER eat sushi again.. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that I know what AMAZING sushi is and now I know the other end of the spectrum.
I think I am going to be sick...
*gasp***
Worst sushi experience ever.
I went to Jo's based on the reviews here. I think that most of the people that like this place must also consider Safeway sushi to be excellent.
This sushi wasn't just bad; it was painful. The selection is terrible. The fish tasted like it came out of a can. I could go on and on. I had to go get icecream to erase such a bad experience.
If you want good sushi go to Zushi Puzzle, Nakid Fish, or Sushi Groove in SF. If you want to torture yourself go to Jo's.
Jo's Sushi. We are a regular at Jo's Sushi bar.. by regular I mean every week. The sushi is by far the best I have ever had. The presentation is beautiful. The staff so friendly and warm I feel like I part of a family. The customers are friendly and the bar is a joyous place to eat and socialize. You will not regret your visit. Dee
Great Sushi. Great sushi ! Good service ! Great occasional specials $ depending on Jo's golf score.... Tables can bi kind of close- it's not a large place !
great local sushi. what a great place.....my wife and I went there for a night out and it was great. Jo was great. my tea was never empty and the sake menu was the best i have ever seen. we are now regulars. for you sushi snobs out there its not the best but it fits us perfectly. go to Jo's you won't regret it.
Ok overpriced sushi. Moved from the city out to the burbs and was hoping to find a good sushi restaurant. This definetly is not it. The sushi is average at best, and overpriced.
Nicest, most friendly sushi chef in the Bay Area!. Part of what makes going to a sushi bar such a great experience is the company...aside from a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere and delicious food, our absolute favorite part of the night was chatting with the great guys behind the bar--one young man in particular who will be leaving for Japan in September to study taiko...so you should definitely try to stop by Jo's before he leaves! Great sushi AND eye candy- can't beat that!
Fresh, but not much selection. The sushi was very fresh, but if you are used to the huge and creative selection of rolls you get at a lot of sushi places in the Bay Area, you will be dissapointed. Mostly basics here. Pretty expensive as well. Very tasty food though, and probably closer to authentic Japanese.
