Smaller portions; lower quality -- Loose the new management!. I’ve eaten here in the past, but tonight was such a disappointment that I felt compelled to post.

First of all, the service is great – darling, hard working attentive. But. . . the portions are much smaller than before, and my biggest complaint was the deserts. Cupcake tasted at least a day old --maybe two. The hot fudge Sunday was enough to make you sick --- really not even editable! It was disgusting! I think it will be a while before I go back. Perhaps by then enough people will have complained and they will make it better.

Gold mining and dining unite at this kitschy all-American eatery.. In Short
Established in 1977, the Claim Jumper draws families, seniors and professionals with a mix of Old-West decor and a reliable menu of American classics. Logs, corrugated tin, rock and warm fireplaces embellish the unique ambience. Signature plates include hickory-smoked pork ribs, rotisserie chicken and barbecued beef tri-tip; the menu also offers tortilla chicken soup, potpies, wood-fired pizzas, and the popular six-layer Chocolate Motherlode Cake. The saloon features appetizers and the restaurant's own brews.

Great food, and the portions are large too!. The food at Claim Jumper is great. Well prepared, fresh and delicious. Try the roasted artichoke for an appetizer. Steak and chicken dishes are excellent. Baked potato or sweet potato as sides. Dessert, of course, is wonderful if you save room. Split a piece of chocolate Mother Lode cake or carrot cake. What's better than great food and enough to take home for the next day. Small portions and expensive doesn't make a restaurant good. Claim Jumper's food is better than most "fancy" restaurants. Its a fun place, too, so enjoy!

Well..You can stuff your fat face.. I don't get why this place has such rave reviews. The portions are enormous and that is all. The food isn't spectacular. When establishments like this are praised for their 'cuisine' it is no wonder American's are fighting obesity. If this your favorite restaurant, I should never hear out of your mouth, "I don't know why I can't lose weight." Duh, it might be because you go to a resturant for the giant portions of food you can shovel in to your pie hole.

If your in a Hurry during the Weekday, short wait and good service!. I ordered a three course meal, it was overpriced but I also had two togo boxes just for me. My Boyfriend ordered the widowmaker and could not finish it, but loved it. Toffee pudding and cheesecakes are devine!

It is casual dining in a hurry on the weeknights.

Usually a long wait. This place reminds me a lot of The Cheesecake Factory except that they focus on American food. The portions are HUGE (and sometimes accompanied by one single apple)! You can share most entrees on the menu!

It's a fun place, usually filled with large families with lots of kids.

Prepare for a short wait on the weekends, and DO NOT forget to check out the desserts! One word: MOTHERLOAD

Biggest Portions In Town!. This is a great restaurant with a variety of food, friendly staff, and eager stomachs. I'm able to get through lunch or dinner but you'd have to visit just for dessert as the portions are huge! I love the Club Sandwich Platter and the Tri Tip Dip. I think the only thing that concerns me is the quality control on some of their cuts of meat. Other than that you'll find me there at least once a month. They also have great Take-Out service too!

Tons of Food. Recommended this place to my cousin for his birthday and a couple buddies. I had last eaten here in Southern California 4 years ago, and I remember huge portions and at least two styrofoam contaners for about 20 of us.

So I called to make reservations, and we were luckily seated ahead of many other's who waited in line. It was a 45 minute wait, but we only waited 10 minutes. The waiters and waitresses were very helpful.

But the best part was the food!!! Two Ore Carts and one appetizer sampler was enough to feed the four of us. The baby back pork ribs were succulent. and the sampler potato cakes were great! Also desert ice cream and cake was in house. Pretty good.

Highly recommended for lots of good food.

Huge Portions. Huge portions and it is actually quite good quality. Kind of noisy though. You can call ahead and have your name added to the waitlist prior to arrival, which can be a huge timesaver.
