TAKE OUT NIGHTMARE. Ive lived in the Blackhawk area for over 20 years and I have never had such bad customer service as Ascona Pizza Co. I can live with the overpricing (Blackhawk is notorious for outlandish pricing). My first bad experience happened when my significant other placed an order and gave my name (Sandy) as the person to pick it up. When I got there, they had the right pizza, but said it was for "Samuels". I had to fight with him to give it to me. This kid was very rude.. I thought, ok, maybe he had trouble understanding my name, maybe my guy didnt speak clearly enough. Anyone can make a mistake. Then, tonight, I phoned in a pick up order for a large pizza, 4 sausage, with extra cheese.... My guy comes back, no pizza! He said they said I ordered a SMALL 4 cheese pizza! They informed him thats what they had and that was it! My guy told them that is NOT what was ordered and if they couldnt make it right he would leave....They told him to leave! Lets put it this way, we live across the street, have the money to spend, thought they had a great pizza, but apparently they are a bunch of kids running the place and have no regard for the customer service. They lost some good paying customers, WE WILL NEVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. The owner should have his head examined to let some stupid, illiterate kids run his shop. I know alot of people in Blackhawk and so does my significant other. We are spreading the word to everyone in the area (if they havent already experienced this) If there was a way to register 1/2 a star, I would!!!!

Average pizza, over priced, lousy service. As a Danville resident for 11 years, I've tried this restaurant 2 or 3 times and am more dissappointed each time we go. This last time we went, the two dinner salads alone cost $18! By the time we paid for a one topping pizza with two drinks (non-alcoholic) we were out $50!

To spend $50, for two, for pizza and salad is crazy - especially when the pizza is just average. The service is poor, with a bunch of kids who are quite arrogant serving you like they are doing you a favor by being there.

If you want real good pizza, go around the corner to the Blackhawk shops and visit Blackhawk pizza (very NY style) or over to Garlex across the street (McDonalds). Both of these places are far superior to Ascona in everyway.

My favorite pizza on the west coast. I have enjoyed pizza all over California and Arizona and Ascona Pizza Co is my favorite by far! I live in Arizona now, but I occasionally visit Oakland area. I have rented a car from the airport with the sole purpose of dinning at Ascona Pizza Co -- when I could have just taken a shuttle to my hotel. I love pizza and the honey beer here. The topings are heaped on and are very good -- perfectly cooked! The sauce, spices and crust are also very good. There is something extra special about their pizza that I can not descibe. I simply enjoy it more than any other pizza joint on the West Coast.

Best Pizza Ever. I LOVE Ascona Pizza. The sauce and crust are exceptional. The crust has some herb butter or something brushed onto it before it enters the oven. They have quite a few interesting pizzas to choose from on their menu and many ingredients available to make you own custom creation. Call ahead with your order so you don't have to wait 45 minutes for you pizza on the busy nights.
