Great neighborhood stop. I've been to this restaurant a few times when visiting my sister in Danville. The restaurant is fairly small, but the quality of the food and the friendly service makes up for the tight quarters. I'm no expert on Indian cuisine, but I recognize food seasoned and cooked well. I have to say we've enjoyed every meal here whether it was a quick lunch or a quiet dinner.
Great, High-Quality Indian Food. I go Chutney's fairly often. The food is great and the owner and staff is friendly. There are dishes available for people in the know that are not on the menu! If the owner sees you in there enough he starts telling you about them, so it makes you feel somewhat special. The ingredients are of quality and everything is so yummy! There is a good wine list. The lunch buffet is great. All of the high-quality dishes that are on their dinner menu are featured in the buffet, but rotated for variety.
Small authentic Indian cusine. I have eaten at Chutneys 3 times and it is always a pleasure. It is a small, quiet, quaint restaurant. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable about the dishes, and they always have good suggestions on what to try. They make the dishes custom to order, and they told me that they will make you whatever you ask for. The dishes are a little pricey compared to some other Indian restaurants I've been to, though. Most of the entrees, even those without meat, are over $10. I would recommend Chutneys to anyone who likes Indian food. FYI- you choose your dish to be mild, medium, hot, or very hot...and "hot" is extremely hot, so next time I would get "medium".
