Fabulous for dinner. I dine at Blackhawk whenever I'm in the area and really can't get enough of their artichoke soup and cappuccino (there is one lady there who really has it going on when it comes to espresso). I wished I had learned this early on, but it is well worth it to save room for dessert. Their pastry chef is a genius and creates some amazing treats. I tell you, the guy is worth his weight in gold! Come to think of it, don't save room for dessert, save room for dinner and start off with dessert. It's a treat well worth it!
Chefs counter.
What an evening! I had the option of a table or the chef's counter. Well, I opted for the chef's counter. It truly was a great dining experience. When you can see how a kitchen works, how well organized and synchronized they operate, then you can appreciate the dining experience much more. Chef Adam and his crew are on top of their game. I started with the crispy Calamari appetizer followed by the delicious Organic Scottish Salmon, beautiful! Food was excellent, as was the service. Jerry, Christian and Kelly to mention a few of the dining staff. I found them to be highly skilled and very entertaining.
I highly recommended this great dining spot to my family and friends.
Thanks

serene outdoor setting. I had lunch at the outdoor patio last week. What a wonderful space for summer! It's so relaxing to sit in the sun and dine while listening to a waterfall. The food was great too. I had a caesar salad with grilled prawns--delicious and light--as well as the key lime chiffon for dessert. The dessert was so good that we ordered another, the creme brulee trio. Both desserts were fantastic, which matched the service that we recieved.
Bad Price, Terrible Food. Me and my wife were so displeased with our food we vowed to never go here again. The service was decent but not up to par. I ordered a steak medium rare (22.99 I might add) and it came back burnt on one side. I asked to recieve a new one and they said they were running low on premium meat. My wife was happy with her meal, some sort of seafood platter. Find another place in town, This one sucks
Great Place to Hang Out. If you like quality California cuisine with a lively atmosphere, you will like this place. We enjoy sitting at the bar with dinner and a few drinks. The menu changes often so there is variety for the frequent guest, but they keep their most popular dishes around for those who love them.
Local favorite offers luxurious European- and Asian-influenced fare to neighborhood diners..
In Short
White-clothed tables with rattan chairs are scattered in several dining areas at this upscale grill. On the patio, white umbrellas shade diners while a fountain gently trickles. The restaurant serves the usual grill fare like burgers, pizza and pasta. But most diners come for more inventive dishes, like the bone-in prime rib chop seasoned with horseradish or the Indian spice-rubbed mignon. Desserts include the macadamia-coconut bread pudding.
Surprise, surprise.... I've eaten my share of overly expensive entrees. And I was expecting more of the same from Blackhawk Grille. I was thinking more of the bill at the end of the meal than what I wanted to order. Oh, so sweetly mistaken. I was there with three other people. Our appetizer, the calamari, was the best calamari I've ever had (fried in rice flour, light but great). ALL of our dishes were amazingly good. The dessets fell a little short, but were still pretty tasty. But the entrees were wonderful. Service was excellent. A great meal, perfect for a special occasion.
BEST RESTAURANT IN E.BAY. TRULY EXCEPTIONAL DINING EXPERIENCE, AS GOOD AS THE CITY, BUT IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD. CHEF AMAYA IS EVOLVING IN TO A CULINARY MASTER!
