GREAT SERVICE. Pick up my car when I needed them too, gave me a ride to work. So helpful and my Audi runs smooth and great. These guys are awesome- Honest and hardworking. Way to go!!!!!!
Germany automotive repair expertise is in Alameda.
My experience with German Auto Service has been fantastic. We have two German automobiles, BMW 3 series and a Audi A8L.
Each time I've had issues with my cars they have provided me with a clear understanding of what the solution would entail including accurate cost and downtime.
They are truly a honest establishment, as an example of said; The dealership informed me that a repair was required, it was going to be costly. My first time going to German Auto Service I shared with them the dealers assessment. They informed me that at this particular time the repair was not a operational or safety issue. Albeit they could have done the work, there position was; it made no sense to address this one issue without addressing another. That I should wait until the other the other issue arose then address them both. They explained what and why they made the aforementioned determination and all the ramifications of said. At that point they turned off the warning light and bid me a good day- No charge. The cost would have easily been close to a $1,000 dollars. Now that's Honest.
I can say emphatically if you have a German automobile and it needs attention; Oskar, Chris and the entire German Auto Service team will provide you with a great experience. I fully recommend them, they are in that rarified air -Best in the Bay.
Dishonest service at a high price. Looking for overpriced, poor service with an attitude? Look no further! Oscar is your man. I'd already had one bad experience with German Auto Service, but wanted to give them a second chance since their location is very convenient for me. Call me an idiot, or a glutton for punishment, but I went back for more questionable service, an got it in spades! I dropped off my BMW and requested that they look into a rattle in the rear suspension. They never called with a quote (although I later saw they had written it up as $98), and instead they called at the end of the day and told me they had looked extensively at the transmission (uh, yeah) and that I needed ~$5k in repairs, and billed me $200 for this diagnosis. Incidentally, I talked with another mechanic about this diagnosis and he disagrees. And German Auto Service apparently never drove the car to look for the rattle, which they said they 'never heard', and instead tried to convince me that I was just hearing the sound of the somewhat wide tires. Um, sure, yeah. I heard the rattle immediately upon picking up the car, and went back to have a mechanic drive with me. He heard the noise right away. So for $200 I got precisely nothing, and when I questioned this when settling up, got an attitude from Oscar. If you like being ripped off, treated like an idiot (which apparently I was for going back to them), then I would HIGHLY recommend that you give them a try. Maybe just leave them your checkbook too...
