Wishing for a great dance place without the crime....
I think it would be awesome to have a great dance place in Alameda. I really wanted this place to be my go to dance place as I am so close.
The problem with this place is well, SOME (not all) of the the people it attracts.
I get off work late and I bike past this place on my way home nightly. Almost every time I pass the police are outside trying to stop the fighting between groups of people who barely speaking English (although clearly they were born in America) attempting to scream obscenities at one another and fighting.
Guys with pants down around their ankles, who can barely walk and girls wearing outfits three sizes too small, busting their seams, fake hair, eye makeup smeared down to their neck, fake nails popping off, and broken heels due to extreme pressure from trying to hold all that weight. You know, the people who have the same emotional intelligence of a spoiled toddler. People who care only about themselves and probably have never done a good deed for someone else without a motive for personal gain.
I am sure the rest of their customers are nice and this is just a small percentage of hideous people, but it only takes a few awful people to ruin a good place.
I wish the owners could step up their game to attract an educated, peaceful crowd who actually care about the other people in society other than themselves. Instead of just beefing up and paying for security.
As a physically small, young woman, it would be nice to feel safe biking / walking by this place late at night or while hitting up Nations for food before they close. But I always get sexually harassed by the boys and threatened by the girls. (Cannot say men and women as these humans are not adults.)
This place makes Webster Street feel like a ghetto.
