Local watering hole of long standing.
This is the oldest bar in Alameda. I believe, but couldn't swear, that it began operating as a bar before 1900; in which case it could legitimately boast a commitment to whetting local whistles that spans three centuries. It's present day ambitions do not stray far from that purpose. It's a good spot to knock back a couple of cold ones after work. In the late afternoon and early evening you can't throw a shot glass without hitting a roofer, plumber, or electrician. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is accessible. The late night crowd is less predictable, with the exception of Tuesday which features a lively and well attended Karaoke.
