Editorial Review for Old Vogue Vintage – by Kim Cooper
The Scene
Just steps away from the bustle of Columbus Avenue is this gracious reminder of fashions gone by. Since 1985, the airy shop with the double Dutch doors has offered handpicked gentlemen's clothing from the 1950s to 1970s. The dressing rooms are roomy and well lit, and there are plenty of mirrors.
The Goods
The choice of Hawaiian casual shirts is exceptional, from the museum-class '40s consignment collection safely hung on the wall to more affordable cotton options. Long-sleeved, screen-printed poly-blend shirts are loud and playful, and in keeping with the '70s vibe; mid-length leather coats are mostly in the $100 range. Suits and jackets range from office casual to Vegas bandleader. Upstairs, vintage jeans, cords, Dickies and khakis are laid flat on deep shelves, separated by size and color. Condition throughout the store is excellent, and sizes are clearly labeled.
