Tasty burritos, complimentary chips and salsa with each order (extra chips $1, extra salsa $.25), quick service, and most importantly, cash only! Super burritos are large, so if you are going back to work, be prepared to be sleepy....

Pros: Fresh made to order food, great burritos

Cons: Ca$h only

On the advice of my boyfriend who swears by their burritos, I decided to give this place a whirl for lunch. It's cozy and unpretentious, with different colored oilcloths on each table which I would love for my apartment. While I enjoy the occasional burrito, I am not a fanatic, so I tried the Special quesadilla which came with sauteed cabbage - a really nice texture contrast. My friend raved about her tostada with prawns which was not the monstrosity in a bowl most people would expect, but a healthy salad on a grilled tortilla with some pretty posh prawns for the price. We split some guacamole which had cajones, thank God. I have little patience for insipid, watered-down guacamole. The wooden gnomes standing outside convinced me to try the mango agua fresca which went down sweet and smooth. The chips and salsa were first rate - not your standard bought-from-Costco taqueria fare at all. I have to admit, this was my first encounter with a fresh chip ... I never knew such things existed. Luckily there's a one-bowl per order limitation or I'd slather them with salsa and stuff my face until the cows came home, if you know what I'm saying. Service was knowledgable, friendly and had some personality for a change downtown. According to my boyfriend, this place has been around for ages and is a family business. Despite all that, it wasn't tired at all and felt very upbeat and straightforward. Good people.
