Editorial Review for El Farolito – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
This traditional, gritty taqueria, with its blue and yellow interior, is especially popular with late-night diners. After the local bars close, revelers flock here for the extremely large burritos, filled with fresh meats, such as carne asada, stewed chicken and spicy al pastor. Other fillings include fresh avocado, rice, beans, sour cream and cilantro, all wrapped in a thin grilled tortilla. Green salsa is homemade with avocado and tomatillo.

It always frustrates me to see all the Mission Hipsters lavishing all of their gushy accolades onto Taqueria Cancun when the REAL DEAL is right down the freaking street at El Farolito. Look here people... if you want to be satisfied by huge burritos - the boiled chicken is a personal fave - , tortas or platas of fresh mexican food at an unbelievable price then head to El Farolito. You'll thank me.
Pros: Great price, great food, wonderful staff.
Cons: NONE, really.
