Editorial Review for Yerba Buena Gardens – by Paula Trevis

In Short
Located next to Moscone Center and across the street from SFMOMA, this sprawling stretch of bright green lawn lures museum mavens and working stiffs alike to linger on benches or seek out nooks underneath blossoming willow tree branches. On a normal day, the gardens are lightly scattered with refuge seekers, but on concert days, the park transforms into a festive urban oasis. Every visitor will be touched (and sprayed) by the majestic Martin Luther King Jr. memorial fountain.

User Reviews for Yerba Buena Gardens

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

08/28/2002 Posted by poamflores

Yerba Buena Gardens has areas that please the young and old. With the gardens and waterfalls, one can sit and read or dream. Younger visitors love the play area and the large play balls. Don't forget to bowl 10 frames while you're there, ride the merri-go-round, and check in on the skating rink!

Pros: FREE, peaceful, appeals to many ages

Cons: the walk from bart, beggars, smog
